Honestly, I thought Iowa State and Baylor were strong 3's. In fact I thought both teams were better than Kansas. I had each going at least to the Elite 8, and I don't care about my brackets, it is funny to see them go out. And if WVU loses today, and Kansas goes out to Wichita State, could be the most epic conference collapse ever.

Is there a team in the Big 12 that deserves to be in the top 25? Apparently not. Maybe borderline, but that's about it.

Huggins has a checkered record in the NCAA's. Some very nice runs and some epic collapses. He seems to like his team now. Who knows?

Kansas is Kansas but they miss the suspended kid. Hard not to expect they'll win at least one or two rounds though. They have talent and Self can coach.

Overall, I think that Big 12 hoops is more than a little like Big 12 football. They play a very aggressive, exciting style that racks up points and statistics, but other than their top school, they usually come up short against good competition. Mostly a little over-rated I think.

Harve, I think you're right. The Big 12 style doesn't lend itself too well to NCAA Tournament basketball where many games are won with defense. Points need to be scored, but you won't win if you can't play defense. Big 12 teams aren't good at that, for the most part.
