Felt like in the first two years we got more pressure on the QB and sacks/turnovers - but also gave up more big plays

This year (Besides OSU game) not so much so I wonder if Duzz made some adjustments to not putting his DB's on an island as much.

Anyone else noticed this?

One thing the staff preached last year and heading into the offseason was the need for players to simply turn their collective heads and make a play on the ball. Jackson, Hamlin, Maddox, Whitehead, Pinnock, Mathis, etc. have done a much better job of doing that this year than last year's squad. There are some like Briggs and Garner who still have a terrible time trying to located the receiver and the ball; hopefully they will get a little better.

The staff has also mixed up coverages a little more this year, rather than staying in their base for the majority of the game. I feel like both have contributed to a better display of defense from the secondary this year.

I'm not sure if it is blitz related. For the most part the past few years if Ejuan Price didn't reach the QB we got very little pressure. This year unless Idowu blitzes we don't reach the QB much.

I don't think the blitz percentage has changed notably in Narduzzi's entire career. It's relatively low on first and second down, higher on third down. Almost always a fire zone or double a gap blitz. Maybe once per game at most a man blitz. He doesn't change much, small tweaks. It works well, like most defenses, if you have the damn players.
