*Fitzsimmons, James, Matlack and Edwards should be the starters going forward. Fitzsimmons is a player.

*O’Brien’s nickname should be toast, torch, or Smokey…

*What can you say about Holstein? His maturity is off the charts. We need to create a Go Fund Me page to keep his services.

*I would like Pitt to use Daniel Carter more. He can wear the defense down a little more especially late in the game.

*Pitt relies too much on blitzing to put pressure on the QB. Need to get better.

*Biles and Louis might be the best pair is linebackers Pitt has had in a long time. Both were low recruited.

carter looked slow, would rather Hammond gets his carries.. Holstein looked, some big plays. One real bad pass to an open guy and that last pass was probably the biggest bone head play i've seen in a while but besides those two plays, really good game..

Hammond looked a little rusty, hopefully gets into a groove soon and can spell Reid.

If Cal pulls the upset, could be an ABC game

Probably enough to keep the rookie of the week streak going..

Kinda Don't want to say glad but that he's shown some "growing warts" ... Kinda grounds him ....

Pitt can't defend the pass if they don't pressure the QB. Pitt's prevent defense is in another word full of holes.

Offense matters in College Football and I’m glad Narduzzi came to grips with that during the off season. If hadn’t, this team would be 2-3 or worse. No Reid, no Poppi, no Lee…. I don’t even want to think about!
Stop complaining.
If, if, if. It doesn't matter who came to grips with what. Those guys are here. If you want to keep thinking about the negative, that is your problem.

The fact that they had to blitz to get any kind of pressure loomed large in this game. For most of the first half they rushed only the Dlineman and got no where. Very un Pitt like. That’s where the biggest need for improvement is.

The DBs had poor eye discipline today because the UNC QB broke out of the pocket a few times guys left their man. Pitt Should had more sacks rather than lots of pressures. They are getting close. Just glad to get the win in North Carolina. Fitz had some plays hope James can get back soon. Enjoy the weekend and the huge win.

F-Off. I'm one of the most positive fans on this board. Go talk to someone else about it.

It is always amusing (at least to me) that there are so many people who simply can't wrap their minds around the concept that just because you won that does not mean that everything was perfect.

I can absolutely guarantee you that there were lots of things today that Pat Narduzzi was not happy with.

Fully agree.

As for the lack of sacks.....Gotta give UNC's QB some credit. He broke out of
the pocket a number of times. He repeatedly alluded tacklers who had
had good penetration. He also hit receivers while he was rolling out and
completed passes on the run. Sometimes when he did stay home, he
completed passes while getting hit and hit hard.

The one sack is a bit deceiving IMO, we had a lot of penetration. Not sure if
we stayed in our lanes, but this QB did a lot on his own to escape.

I apologize for my language. You’re right.

I was merely pointing out the difference between last year and this year. Last year we were 1-4 and this year we are 5-0. It feels a lot better this year!

I would think
1. This Defense Giving up 17 points on the road against an ACC opponent is something he should be happy about.
2. Offense scoring in the 30's ,also good
3. QB throwing silly INT balls, just a learning curve to improve on
4. Too many run up the middle plays on 1st down resulting in negative yards or less than +1., it become predictable lose yardage on first down or gain 2 or less.
5. OC , they need to work on slowing down the tempo when the need arises. It appears to be hard for them to do, that last drive, snapping the ball with 24 seconds on the clock, calling time-out with 14 secs, etc. Saul's is great but no need to temp fate, something to work on, IMO
6. and as pointed out lots things , as in individual techniques......

F off? Aw really? Oh sorry.

We are 5-0. Narduzzi has his faults. If you want to nitpick, that is your right. I am just looking at other programs that are having kids leave during the season and just want to enjoy the year.

Well then enjoy it! Nobody’s stopping you, Jack! I could patrol some of your past posts for negativity, like ones about the Steelers, but I don’t want you to look more foolish than you already are…

SHEESH!

Fitzsimmons got pressure several times beating his man one-on-one. He is easily our best D tackle. We need Matlack and Edwards to step it up at D end. The defense was decent today, but, we have serious coverage issues when these guys don't at least get the QB off his spot. The good news is we are improving and overcoming mistakes while still winning. That is huge. Eli said after the game, we want to go 1-0 each week. It is cliche, but, I like that we come with that attitude and battle level each week. Credit Eli and the staff for leading this team and getting all to buy-in.

Really? My posts are foolish? If you go back and look at my posts you really need to get a life. Talk about being foolish. Good bye

D line is an issue for sure. Offense is greatly improved. Cignetti must have REALLY sucked. 5-0 is nice!

There's a world of difference between the creativeness of Bell vs Cignetti.

That said, the offense would still suck something awful it weren't for Dez & Eli. Eli accounted for well more than half of Pitt’s rushing yards today.
