Brennan Marion takes HC job

He's told a lot of "stories" over the years..
Well he's on the rosters for 2003 Steel Valley and 2004 Greensburg Salem...but I'm sure he just made up the other two.

Ask the local kids the stories they were told that they held offers from UNLV that turned out to not be true.

Can you imagine a poor kid and his mom making the trip to vegas only to find out you don't have an offer? It sucks to be told something like that.

No it doesn't. These are all illegal pay for play deals that the NCAA doesn't regulate. I feel no remorse for that Sluka kid. NIL is supposed to be for him to do some commercials or whatever. If some school lies about NIL to get a recruit, so what. The NCAA allows all of this to go on. Sluka complaining is like some drug buyer reporting their drug dealer to the police for overcharging. These are not NCAA-legal transactions that are taking place so if you enter into an illegal transaction and get burned, don't complain

Are they recruiting you or just grooming you to be an asset? If they’re not recruiting you…you’re just a pawn.
I've known most of them for years. When you don't have a relationship with them, they try to recruit like everyone else does.
If they want to keep the relationship going, they usually aren't too slimy.
That’s why you have advisors..and more importantly….OPTIONS!
Advisors? This isn't Hollywood. Most kids do not have advisors.

I'm not talking about NIL. I'm talking about telling kids they've been offered a scholarship out of high school. I'm talking about kids who travel to vegas on their own dime only to be told it wasn't really an offer.

In this day and age of NIL…you better have an advisor.

Ok but that too is a fault of the NCAA. If you've been offered a scholarship, you should be able to sign right then. Someone on this board was explaining that a scholarship offer now just means an invitation to camp or essentially "try out" so it's not committee until they do that.

Most high school kids have zero NIL leverage. Now if we're talking the top 1-2% - sure. Otherwise, most advisers tell you not to bring it up during the recruitment process.

I don't disagree with the ability to sign once you're offered. However, most coaches are transparent and tell you straight up what they mean by an "offer." Some aren't, but it's a true shitty move if you have a kid show up on your campus on his own dime and the offer wasn't valid, especially when the kid isn't local. I can tell you this, James Franklin is many things but even he doesn't pull crap like this. I've never heard of Narduzzi doing it either.

The hate that some of you have for this man is just straight up weird.

As opposed to the guys who rush to every thread to carry his water? That's what is truly weird.

Dude was here for a cup of coffee, left and tried to take Pitt's best player. Pretty much lies about everything. Why would anyone give a sh!t about what's being said about him on this board?
