Brown to transfer

Brown

with his height and weight, if he lacked speed, how the hell was he a 4 star recruit with a star studded offer sheet? I don’t think too many college recruiters would be counting on being able to turn a 6’1 200 pound kid into a 260 pound DE. I’m not arguing with you -I’ve never seen the kid play, run, lift, move, etc—it just doesn’t make sense to me that an undersized guy without a lot of room to get bigger, who doesn’t move really well, would ever get the kinds of offers this kid had. Presumably he performed at prospect camps and everyone had film on him.
Beats the snot out of me. Never seen him either and even if I had I’m not sure I’d know what I was looking at anyway. Just repeating what people have said. Whether or not they know, who knows. Point being it wasn’t a total love fest here over him. Right or wrong.

It was actually the opposite. He was very productive as a freshman and sophomore. I believe covid canceled his JR year and camp circuit so no one saw him. All of the coaches were flying blind on him and took a shot on his early production.

Former Pitt commit then decommit Henry Parish is in the portal. I guess Ole Miss wasn't the place for him...

I’d like to see us add another RB. He’d be a good addition.
We have him already. Like to see a different breed with the new OC. No, not Hyno2. Pitt has smallish but fast backs like Parish. Not saying Parish wouldn’t look good here. Other needs with the ships.

We already have backs like him, but none as good as him. I’m not saying we should take him, but he would probably jump into the Top 2 in the rotation if he came here.

There is a lot we don't know. Not everyone shows up at college and puts the work in. Might have been struggling in the classroom. Could have had a setback and other guys are just elevating faster. Could also be a personal issue and he just wants to be closer to home and ends up at ODU or something. I think a lot of the "he wasn't that good" stuff is just sour grapes from fans. The truth is, for every couple diamonds in the rough, there is probably going to be a well regarded kid that flames out.

Old thread, and maybe it was posted somewhere else and I missed it, but just noticed on 247's portal tracker that Brown ended up at Norfolk State. Likely a combination of wanting to be closer to home and ability to play at a P5 level.
