Iowa lost to an Fcs team, Illinois getting beat by western Michigan, Wisconsin struggled agains ga southern, Rutgers struggled against New Mexico, Psu struggled against temple, and Michigan having issues with an average at best Colorado team.

As usual, a highly overrated conference.

Yeah other than Ohio State and whoever the second best team is any given year, it's a bunch of overrated teams in the middle... and the bottom feeders are as bad as any conference in America.

I hate the BIG as much as anyone, but you left out Nebraska who is looking pretty good. Rutgers covered, and Illinois was a home underdog to Western Michigan today. Even Iowa was only a 14 point home chalk over NDSU.

Well, that should tell you something about them then.
If a team is a home underdog vs a Mac school, and you cover with a 9 point win vs freaking New Mexico, you have some bad teams.

I totally disagree. tOSU is blowing out OU and MSU defeated ND. Michigan fell behind early and won by 17. Nebraska had a nice win. Illinois sucks, as everybody knew they would. Iowa crapped the bed, but they aren't all that anyways. Northwestern beat Duke. Everybody else won. It doesn't matter if it was ugly, it just matters that they won.

Wisky already has a quality win under their belt. Style points do nothing for them. Their season will be defined in their next 5 games.

The Big Ten is probably going to have 4 teams ranked in the Top 10 (maybe 11) this week. That's not too shabby.

Iowa was 13th. Id love to see this board meltdown if we beat Georgia state 24-16.

Iowa isn't very good. They had a decent record last year only because they didn't play anybody.

All fanbases meltdown when they have a close game with teams that are supposed to be cupcakes. However, in the grand scheme of things, it only matters that you pull out a win from those games. I don't read too much into those type of games.

True, Georgia St is a really bad team.

But Iowa being "13" means absolutely nothing. Those rankings are made by coaches and sportswriters that have no clue which teams are better than others. Your average fan is more qualified to make those rankings

What the he!! is with this board ? BIG is over rated/sucks ? Did you look at the entire results today ? If any conference is over rated this year it's the SEC who's been riding Bama's success for the last couple of years.

Big Ten is the best conference this year. Rutgers won after spotting the other team a 21-0 lead. The BIG Ten teams already this year has beaten Oregon, LSU, Norte Dame and Oklahoma, all teams normally in the top 5 in the ranking. They will have the 4 teams in the top 10, Ohio State #1 or 2, Michigan #3, Wisconsin #7 and Michigan State #9 and Neb will be #13.

The only great thing is Penn State will be 4th or 5th best in the Big Ten East for a couple of years, not enough time for Franklin to keep his job. 2 or 3 more years and he's fired.

Laughable.

Each week things happen. FSU got killed after beating Miss. Things happen in college football that are head scratching. matchups, when a team plays who and health all enter into the mix. Good teams find a way to win no matter who the opponent. Big Ten has the same ups and downs as any conference. But no question for talent the SEC is still the lead dog.

Yeah, with non conference victories this year against LSU, ND, Oklahoma & Oregon. Who exactly has the ACC beat non-conference? Yes, I know PSU, but not exactly a marquee win for the conference.

Meanwhile, Ohio State just has 6 Starters back and wiped out OU?

MSU beat ND too?

Michigan is going to be tough too?

The ACC has Clemson and ULou too, and FSU is learning that hard way the last 2 years?

Doesn't change the fact that the bottom of the BIG is borderline MAC level. Maryland, Rutgers, Northwestern, Illinois, and Indiana would struggle in the MAC, and there is a lot of proof really to show that.

Sure, OSU is good, as is MSU, but it is always the same thing once you get past the top two or three.

Northwestern beat you about a year ago and Maryland might be better than PITT. You are crazy and think Pitt has turned the corner to Top 25 for beating Penn State which might be the 9th best team in the Big Ten. Rutgers went 8-5 in 2014 and Pitt went 8-5 in 2015 and 2014 went 6-7. You are really that much better after one season.

I would wait and win a few more games to declare Pittsburgh even a good team. SYracuse fan expect a win against Pittsburgh believe it or not. I think you are better but you're not going to dominate Cuse.

Lol, you'll have to find me the game recap of that Pitt northwestern game. Haha.

You need to study your Pitt football history a little bit--Pitt hasn't played Northwestern since Tony Dorsett was a freshman (1973)--43 years ago, and we've beaten the Cuse 10 of the last 11 (and 12 of the last 14) but maybe they think they can beat us?

You care to put some money on how that all shakes out by the end of the national championship game?

FSU after being totally destroyed and humiliated? Really? Miami, UNC and Pitt? Based on what?

Big 10 looks to be the best right now followed by the sec and acc. Still a lot of football to play though.

If you are going to count ou and ND then we get to count Ole miss and auburn.

All the BIg teams and the conference itself tries to equate attendance figures with quality of play- that's their ploy. As a whole, they are and have been a bunch of mediocre FB teams.

I'm sorry, Rutgers Dave, but if you're trying to make the argument that Rutgers is Pitt's equal (this year or any recent years), you're blowing smoke. Being a Penn Stater, I obviously am not a fan of either school, but Pitt would clean your clock.

Rutgers was 11-2 IN 2006 12Th RANKED IN THE COUNTRY, 8-5 in 2007 and 2008, 9-4 in 2009, 4-8 in 2010 ERIC LEGRAND WAS PARALYZED and never won a game that year after that, 9-4 in 2011 and 9-4 in 2012. Schiano left in 2011 and FU*** Flood was a terrible coach and even worst recruiter. We now have the right coach who can recruit. The Pittsburgh fans should understand since you had 2 bad coaches before Nuzz. The Penn State fans will cry when Rutgers win against them within the next 2-3 years. Penn State will become Syracuse crying all the time. Penn State wishes they can get to 9 wins again.

Yes, we are bad this year but I see the improvements already, less penalties and come from behind wins. Flood left us with no recruits. With the right QB, we will be competitive with Penn State next year or 2018.
