With a chance to give themselves a decisive boost in the ESPN tourney forecast, the Panthers fell short by a point at North Carolina Saturday, leaving their odds around a coin flip. Pitt's résumé isn't going to blow anyone away -- they rank outside the top 50 in both SOR and WAB, with a 6-8 mark against BPI top-100 foes and a sub-.500 record in what has been a diminished ACC. But if the conference sends five teams to the tournament, which the ESPN model thinks is likely, that group could still very likely include the Panthers, though that's looking less certain by the game.
