Looks like VaTech just let him go with no transfer restrictions. Any word on why? Will Narduzzi show interest in him again?
Seems like a stupid reason to dismiss a true freshman, unless he refuses to lose weight....which I have a hard time believing. Reading twitter, it wasn’t a mutual decision for them to part. I’d love to see him come here and take the year off to get into shape.
He was overweight in HS. He's athletic and quick for his size but if he really put on thirty pounds, it means he did nothing this summer.
Yet, he is dismissed.
1. The kid came in wayyyyy overweight.
2. He's dismissed.
As you said, it's stupid to dismiss him for just being overweight. No staff would do that. So the logical explanation is either he did something else to get suspended, OR he didn't seem to have much desire to lose the weight. Got in the training program and folded.
He has been on campus for more than a month. There is no doubt VT coaches had a plan for him to follow after his season and it probably involved him losing some weight and improving his conditioning. Instead he added 25+ pounds. If after a month on campus he still wasn't working I don't think there is anything else to the story. You literally just cut the dead weight because that kid is never going to get his ass in gear for your program. Maybe it is a wake up call and he does it for the next program, but it wasn't going to happen at VT.Yet, he is dismissed.

350 Lineman... but yet teams can have 400 pound TEs

He’s 6’0” tall!
