One team has gotten these right.

Taking the blue from the original uniform(on left),

And morphing into a different shade of blue for the color rush uniforms on the right,

Is dumb
Well...every team has them, and I'm guessing that all powder blue wasn't a good look.

Very nice. Exactly how it should be done. I like every combination except for the far right. I think the next to last version is very underrated. Everyone talks about the powder blues and the navy blues, but those royal blues are sharp as hell. Still, the powders take the cake.

The Chargers have the best unis in the league when they stick to powder blue. Some things should never change. Eagles need to go back to Kelly green, Pats need to go back to their old unis, and the Bucs should revert to the creamsicles (even if they don't bring back the winking Pirate).

I also like that they have a uniform for each one of their season ticketholders. It shows that they really care about their fans.

Absolutely. The current Patriot uniforms are hideous. Even those Bledsoe renditions with the royal blue, silver, and red were better.

But I guess I can see them not wanting to stray form the combination they've played 9 Super Bowls in.

They were rocking the royal blue in 1996. It was a lot closer to what they have now, but they didn't switch to the navy yet. Same logo, but I wouldn't call them the same uniforms necessarily. These are what I meant by the Bledsoe uniforms.

Bucs, Browns, and Chargers got it right, though could the Chargers come up with a few more combinations so they could wear a different uniform every game? They couldn't decide what to go with and decided on everything. I suppose that's your options when you have no fans in your new city.

Pats are ok, but look like they came from a uniform re-design on Madden.

Falcons new uniforms are minor league.

I had never seen so much hype for a uniform reveal, but it was worth it! THAT is how you redesign a brand. As a uniform junkie, I love them.

The Pats helmet looks as bad as Dinocat, to me.

I'd also throw the Carolina Panthers in that mix.

Falcons should go back to the red helmet unis. I always thought those were pretty sweet.

People love their old uniforms whether it’s the red helmets or the throwback they’re using in the current set. I get you want to sell jerseys, but make that your alternate and have a sweet primary uniform set instead.

Seriously. Why they don't they start mixing them ... go with royal blue pants, powder blue top, and navy lightning bolt on helmet.

The old Seahawks unis from the Steve Largent years were pretty sweet. I like their current unis too, just like the old silver helmets.

Denver too, new (well....20 year old) unis and colors are very corporate looking in the same way the Pats are. At least go back to the old helmet logo with the current colors.

I think the Patriots should’ve gone back to the Pat Patriot uniforms and I definitely think the Buccaneers should’ve gone back to the Errol Flynn/Creamsicle uniforms. Those were two of the most beautiful uniforms in the history of the NFL. They’ve each improved their uniforms from what they were wearing, but neither is the best uniform either organization has ever worn.

I think the Chargers absolutely nailed their new uniforms. However, the navy blue uniform is a bridge too far. It’s just completely gratuitous and unnecessary.

I think the Browns, the Chargers and the Colts all did a fabulous job with their new uniforms. I think the Falcons did the worst job with their new uniforms. They will definitely be changing them again at the first opportunity to do so.

I agree with everything you said, as a uni junkie that loves throwback looks, except for the Chargers’ navy blue uniform.

On principle, I don’t like all the black/grey/random alternate uniforms that teams unnecessarily unveil. However, I like that both of their alternate uniforms pay homage to their history; the royal blue is for the Fouts/Winslow era and the navy blue is for the Seau/Tomlinson era. It ties their history together and gives the fans another uniform to buy.

Yeah, the uniform itself looks great! Let me start with that point.

I think the powder blue uniforms with the gold pants are going to be among the nicest sets in the NFL.

I really like what they were able to do with the pants and the shoulders. The whole thing just looks very dynamic and modern.

I also think the Bolts’ all white uniforms are going to look so damn clean.

Let me make it absolutely clear that they hit a homerun here – there’s no doubt about it. They will forever be on everyone’s list of having among the nicest uniforms in the entire NFL.

I’m not sure they’re going to have 25,000 people in the stands for their games, but their uniforms are going to look absolutely gorgeous.

My only issue with the navy blue uniform is that it’s just too many uniforms all at once. I don’t think they needed two color rush uniforms. Also, I don’t think it’s smart to release two alternative uniforms at the same time.

At a certain point it starts to dilute your main uniform. I have always argued that with college uniforms too. However, that’s an even bigger deal in the NFL.

I just think what ends up happening is you end up selling fewer jerseys just in different colors. I think They would’ve been better off doing what Pittsburgh did last year and just selling the royal blue uniforms this year. Then, in a year or two, you add the Fouts era uniforms. Then, if you years later, you add those beautiful navy blue uniforms

They would’ve been better off doing what Pitt did last year and just selling their base uniforms this year.

Then, in a year or two, you add the Fouts era royal blue uniforms.

Then, a few years later, you add those beautiful navy blue uniforms.

You're much better off selling those jerseys in staggered years so that you can sell them to the same people over and over again.

People are dumb and they will buy it a few years apart. However, by doing it this way, they already have their new Chargers jersey and some have their new Chargers throwback jersey too. They’re not going to buy yet another throwback jersey.

I also think it’s dumb to do a bunch of retro uniforms for a team that is playing in a brand new market. I know LA and San Diego are just a few hours apart, but they are completely different markets.

So, I love the uniforms – particularly the baby blue uniforms with a gold pants. However, I’m not as crazy about the marketing aspect of things.

I thought of PITT when I saw these.

it was a similar situation. They Used multiple shades of blue and gold in their history. So they came up with a lineup that uses ALL of them - lol.

They look good - the only potentially issue is there isn’t a clean brand of what the real colors are...but I suppose they would say the powered blue and old school yellow Is.

Agreed, and that’s a good point re: the staggered releasing. However, I feel like they unveiled all at once and have all these different uniforms because they want to stand out and garner fan attention in Los Angeles, especially since the Rams dropped the ball on their rebranding. That may be why they tried to pack as big of a punch as they could with their rebranding.

The Rams may not have dropped the ball entirely. I’d like to see their new uniforms before making that decision.

I do agree that their logo was not good. The LA logo with the horn just feels weak. I saw on NFL Memes the guy use the Ramshead with the LA on it and it looked better than the logo they actually came out with.

My biggest problem with the Rams’ new logo was the sublimation aspect of it. I just don’t think that’s going to work in a number of areas - most notably embroidery.

I have no idea how any team could develop a logo that doesn’t work on embroidery? That just doesn’t make any sense and honestly that’s entirely on Nike, who’s business depends on merchandising.

Still, they could save the whole thing with a tweak here or there and nice uniforms.

I thought Atlanta should have come out with a red helmet. The only team that has a red helmet is Kansas City. Odd when you think there are 32 teams in the league and red and blue are most common. There should be another team with a red helmet. Somewhere along the way pro sports teams gravitated towards ugly uniforms with black and shades of blue. Steelers Black and Gold still rocks

Agreed re: the Falcons. Also went with gradients... not a great idea. And the Steelers would have the best look in football if they went back to the block numbers. I digress!

I know alot is for merchandising sales, but I find people and kids mostly buy jerseys and "stuff" based on a team and a player's popularity much, much, much moreso that color schemes.

Aside from the stupid numeral change, the Steelers players over the last 50 years have been amongst the most popular. Same with the Cowboys, the Pack, the Pats. So I don't why these franchises go all Mr. Blackwell, and listen to mostly feminine designers on what their uniforms should look like.

Falcons, Chargers, Browns, Lions etc have never won a super bowl. A few other teams also on that list. They might have tradition and history as franchises but they have to make uniform changes to give their fans something to cheer about and get excited about.
