Chicken Wings. AK Valley specific

Deep fried ten minutes, let them sit out ten minutes, then pop them back in another 2 or 3 minutes. Apparently the double frying is the key to crispy wings and the only way I get restaurant style crisp at home.
This process works well with French fries too.

I prefer my wings unsauced and almost always go cajun dry rub if they have it. It pretty much guarantees you a crispy wing. Ask for whatever sauce you want on the side. Works great when people like different sauces like my wife and I.

And the double bone piece is a tastier piece of chicken and more tender. Any meat in between bones has more flavor, like ribs.

Not in AK Valley, but wings North Park Clubhouse on Rte 8 and the smoked wings at Breakneck Tavern on 228 are both solid. I don't like smoked wings unless they're smoked and then finished in the deep fryer to crisp them up.

North Park Clubhouse hot wings and Breakneck dry run are two of my favorites. Breakneck also has great blue cheese dressing for dipping. My favorite place is probably the new place on route 8 though, stack'd. The hot wings are great and I love the cajun ranch dry rub they have.

My kids want to go get burgers there, will have to try the wings.

One of my late night guilty pleasures towards the end of my college years (only a few years ago) was Wings Over in southside. They would deliver too.

It’s not for everyone, but do miss that place. They’re opening one up sorta close to where I’m living now soon too... but probably not going to be in their delivery radius.

My wife loves the burgers there. Idk how hot you like your wings but they have some legitimately spicy ones. Not like clubhouse where it's Frank's red hot. I order the 3rd hottest option and it's all I can handle.

Yes. And it is the only way to make French Fries also. The only way. Well fresh cut fries. The frozen ones come out crispy when you fry them, why? Because they already have been fried.

I heard about Jiggers wings from a ton of people, I went there, and I thought they were terrible. Wing was too small and they were burnt and dry. Maybe it was a bad night?

I used to work with a guy who’s mum did the wings at gunny’s. He was about 400lbs and had some serious health issues. The wings were amazing and if his mum cooked everything like that, I can see why he was 400lbs.

Quakersteak’s Lousiana Lickers are probably my favorite sause of all time.

Yeah Gunny's! I used to hang out there in the late 80's (holy hell was it that long ago?) when Gunny owned it, and for a summer job I worked for a landscaping company that he was friends with.

In a small, small world. When I went to work for a company in South Carolina, the plant manager was from the AK Valley. So we would golf together and one time he told me he was going back home to visit his best friend from HS and he had a bar that had the best wings. I asked him who, he said "Gunny". So...yeah...
