I didn't say that either. As I said, td lives on a totally different planet. He also think it’s better to go 8-4 than go to the title game like TCU
I said I'll take a Conference title over a 65-7 thumping.

Your point?LOL--his official press release after it was announced that Whip was leaving.
Nice try.
And that's exactly why Whipple is unemployed today. You missed the part about him recruiting Purdy to Nebraska on Pitt's dime. That's not a guy you offer a bag. Obviously Whipple has no culpability in the strained relationship with Narduzzi. We know he was a joy to work with because he even got along so well with Scott Frost.
Whipple didn't want to be subservient to anyone. It's a testament to Narduzzi that he kept him here three years and put up with him.
Any coach could see the sideline QB visits ate into the play clock but he chose to not change it
Well judging by Dooz’s revolving door of OCs and his childish and classless public bashing of them (and some other assistants) after they leave, I’m pretty sure there’s another side to that story, GG. But I know the Kool Aid runs strong in you, so I’ll save my debates for those capable of some modicum of objectivity. You missed the part about him recruiting Purdy to Nebraska on Pitt's dime. That it’s bullshit, like every press release ever issued after someone leaves a very public job. I’m sure Narduzzi had little to no input into it.Your point?

He was hands off to him as he has been to every other OC. And, how he does things has mostly worked overall.Bingo!
He’s not too shy about firing OC’s but all of a sudden, he’s hands off when it comes to Cignetti / Jurkovec… I wished he was more hands off when it came to Whipple…
Well, whether it's bullshit or not, that was his statement to the media. I think calling his comments about Whipple on some podcast a "childish and classless public bashing" is a little over the top. That it’s bullshit, like every press release ever issued after someone leaves a very public job. What's your theory on why he ran the most productive and highest scoring offense in school history? I'm sure in your mind it was all because of Kenny Pickett and one elite receiver.Well, whether it's bullshit or not, that was his statement to the media. OC is pretty much a revolving door position.
Any theories as to why Whipple's Nebraska offense was ranked 102nd last year & he is unemployed this year?
Also, any theories why the last few QBs he's recruited are also non-factors? Davis Beville, Chubba Purdy, Joey Yellen?
The fact that you can;t bring yourself to admit the obvious--that Narduzzi's post mortem comments about Whipple, and for that matter Canada, were asinine and buffoonish, says a lot.It took Scott Frost all of one game to publicly throw Whipple under the bus. Narduzzi didn't say anything until he left, three years after he was hired.
People believe what they want to believe.

I'm not gonna make excuses for the guy, but I will say this--no OC or coach on earth could have had any kind of success at Nebraska in Year 1 there walking into that absolute dumpster fire. Frost was already scandalized and everyone knew he was certain to be fired (and was fired after 3 games), the team was lost, players had quit, the program environment was toxic, and the quarterback was somebody named Casey Thompson.
Bashing a guy for throwing the ball too much after he delivers the best offensive season in school history justifiably made Dooz a national laughingstock. You know that, and your failure to acknowledge it is laughable.
"We have better people in those positions now, I'll guarantee you that."
Everyone on college football laughed when Pitt hired Cignetti. He added, “Our old offensive coordinator had no desire to run the ball. Everybody knew it; he was stubborn. Wake Forest was 118th in run defense, and we threw the ball every down. When we ran it, we ran it for 10 yards, but that wasn’t good enough.”
“I think when you throw the ball 85 percent of the time, and you’ve got people teeing off on the pass rush, we didn’t make it easy on Kenny,” Narduzzi said.
Whipple left Pitt for Nebraska. He was replaced by Frank Cignetti Jr., and Narduzzi also has a new receivers coach/passing game coordinator in Tiquan Underwood. “We’ve got better people coaching on those positions on offense, I guarantee you that,” Narduzzi said.
No, because he won’t do it. We’re reduced to hoping for UNC plane trouble.Am I being a bad Pitt fan if I hope that Jerk starts Saturday and Pitt gets blown out?
Thus forcing HCPN to make some realistic changes.
Yeah, you really need to back up things like he said with as good or better performance and he hasn’t. And he’s not even backing down with either, with his moronic statements about Jurkovec and refusal to change anything. He is looking and sounding like a real stooge this year. The fact that you can;t bring yourself to admit the obvious--that Narduzzi's post mortem comments about Whipple, and for that matter Canada, were asinine and buffoonish, says a lot.

Because he did a great job developing Kenny Pickett and he had a great deal of talent surrounding him. What's your theory on why he ran the most productive and highest scoring offense in school history? I'm sure in your mind it was all because of Kenny Pickett and one elite receiver.

Which is totally wrong. He's always stressed balance. Almost every one of his in-game interviews involve critique of the passing game and getting that going. This is true from a national perception standpoint.
The guys on Cover 3 this week were taking shots and for this exact reason. Right or wrong, Naruduzzi has created a perception that he hated 2021, and he’d rather lose the “right way” than win throwing the ball.
Unfortunately it shouldn’t have to come down to that.Am I being a bad Pitt fan if I hope that Jerk starts Saturday and Pitt gets blown out?

Dabo & Saban both have it easy. They don't care if one of their young QBs crash and burn. Both are really secure in their job & they will just go out and buy another QB. It still hasn't stopped Dabo from struggling with his QBs since Trevor left.Unfortunately it shouldn’t have to come down to that.
A top tier coach would know that the bottom line is winning. Therefore you must do what you can to win every game. That means changing QB’s if necessary for the good of the team. (You know, we not me)… Top tier coaches like Dabo & Saban didn’t hesitate to make the move when necessary…
