Clemson to Begin Classes Online

So will public schools

I think it is inevitable. The question then becomes why spend all that money on room & board to sit in a dorm and watch classes online when you can do it for free at home? You know a place like Pitt will be swooping down on bars and frat parties shutting them down (PSU probably not so much). So what's the point of being on campus?

This could change the whole college experience and change the college landscape going forward. Not saying it is good or bad but change will occur!

Change will occur and it will probably be toward hybrid or providing more options. What won't change for quite awhile is the majority that doesn't find online learning as good as in person.

The cost will even this out and those that can afford in person will learn in person but there are many more student's parents who look at the cost difference and opt for on line vs mortgaging their homes.

Unfortunately, many colleges going to online classes aren’t offering a discount to students. I hope that changes going forward.

Heather says Pitt is going to a hybrid high-flex academic calendar. Hopefully Pitt can pull off both students in class and students online this semester. That would certainly solve a lot of problems, if covid-19 allows it.
