I don't think our problem is talent,these players look lost,the announcers said multiple times that the players didn't know the plays,that is inexcusable

Pitt's talent at DB and the LB (JRs and SRs) is simply bad or if you want to throw in the underclassmen you get a year where you simply can't do a whole lot better
Pitt was 11 point shy of 11 wins and a top 10 ranking
maybe but considering what we had on D not a lot of talent in the upper classmen except EJ and a lot of very young guys
This was a team that ended up about where it should have and having a shot as close as they came to 11
you probably don't know too much about football or how it is played but thank goodness Narduzzi does and you will not be making any decisions for any team
Narduzzi knows D and this will improve starting early next year

All I'll say on this is that if this would happen, I'd like to see us go after Narduzzi's close friend, Scott Shafer.
Some of you posters are morons the offense was unstoppable, the run the pass and scoring, the defense, the run defense was 4th in the country, the pass defense was horrible and was deffinetly because of a lack of talent, I believe that when he starts implementing his young talented DBs the whole team will be much better, some of you are impatient, Pitt is still playing with Chryst players, and I also believe he has gotten the most out of these players possible, just wait and see
Morons and fall in love with knee jerk reactions. Narduzzi goes from on the hot seat to we won't be able to keep him at Pitt from week to week. They don't have the ability to take in large sets of data and performances and come out with rationale opinions.
It's a combo of we don't have top D talent buts its good enough to do better than we did against Cuse which = bad D coaching.

If Conklin and Hill can land Wade and a couple more talented additions to the defense, I believe they need to stay.
Earlier this year I saw Wade and Hill on the sidelines talking. I would think recruits would respect him since he was a very good db at Michigan State and played ten years in the NFL.
I also believe Narduzzi has a good rapport with recruits and we all know his goal this year was stopping the run which this defense did most of the time.
Let's give Conklin and Hill some time. If we don't see improvement next year, maybe then a change or changes need to be made. But remember, change isn't always good.

No doubt that not recognizing what the limitations of your players is at this point of the year is quite puzzling.
So, what you are saying is the Clemson DC should be on the hot seat or maybe even fired because Pitt lit them up that one game? Get real!!!! Conklin has the same defensive problems that Narduzzi has, they both understand that they are not playing with the talent that they personally have recruited, we will see in about 2 to 3 more years guit crying and wait, the last 2 year have been a awesome improvement 11 points away from being 11 and 1 this year, and that's with a horrably talent lacking secondary, 4th nationally against the run, guit complaining and be patient, it going to happen
Not saying that Pitt should fire Conklin, but I've always liked Todd Orlando. He is now the interim coach at Houston. It will be interesting to see where he ends up:
A) permanent HC at Houston
B) Goes with Herman to Texas.
Dave Aranda (DC at LSU) would like to go to Texas and be reunited with his old friend Tom Herman. LSU wants to retain him.
If Aranda goes to Texas, Orlando would be available. He is a Pittsburgh native who has done a good job wherever he has gone. He also a good candidate to be a head coach in the future.
