Are we sure it's a benefit to Pitt if he comes back? Do we want another year where carries are taken away from Noss, Ollison, and Hall? I'm not sure Moss isn't a better option right now
Like school or not I don't see him doing something stupid. You said he had to go- again complete BS!You can weight the pros and cons all you want, but he doesn't like school and won't be back.
If he returns to his 2014 form, he's still the best back we have. Are we sure it's a benefit to Pitt if he comes back? Do we want another year where carries are taken away from Noss, Ollison, and Hall? I'm not sure Moss isn't a better option right now

Sorry, confused your post with another above.I didn't say that. I said what he's going to do. He should probably come back. Can you read?
Total nonsense. He 's splitting carries the way he is at the moment because he's not in top shape. If he returns to form, he gets the lion's share of the carries and if he performs like he did in 2014, he's a sure 3rd round pick. You don't jump early to get drafted after the 5th round or to sign as a free agent-that's idiocy! If he goes early, hit really tells me that he's done with FB.His best bet is to leave. RB's only have so many carries in them, especially big backs like him.
If you figure he is a 7th rounder or free agent now, even if he comes back stronger next year he still won't get enough carries to move himself up more than maybe a round or two.
He needs to show what he can do catching the ball and handling blitz protection to prove he can play at the next level.
It's not easy coming back from serious illness. I thought for sure Brian Shorter would be an NBA player, but he just kind of faded away. I hope Conner has a better future in store.
Ahhhh...David Johnson of the Steelers, not David Johnson of the Cardinals. I had to do a double take.
This again? JesusAny chance someone points out that a move back to defense might greatly improve any shot he has of playing in the NFL?
From Pitt's standpoint, he might be more valuable on the other side of the ball next year.
This again? Jesus
He's losing time because he doesn't have the conditioning to perform at the level he did in 2014. If he can get back to that level he's still the best back we have. In any event, he would still need spelled and Moss is a nice change of pace. The reason why the slot backs are getting so many carries is, in part, due to the falloff in production from the tailback spot. I see absolutely NO scenario where he stays and drops on the depth chart. None of the other backs has shown the ability to be a bellweather 20-25 carry per game halfback like James has or the ability to be as effective as James was in 2014.Seems like he is losing significant playing time this year, if he stays he will probably lose more playing time next year, especially with the way Moss and Ffrench run, does not seem to fit into this offensive scheme, does not break the tackles he used to and seems to have lost some speed and cutting ability, if he stays and drops in the depth chart might not get drafted at all, he should leave after this year. probably for his own best interest and wish him well
Right! As he was in 2014, hopefully he canHe's losing time because he doesn't have the conditioning to perform at the level he did in 2014. I believe we all agree with this.. Kid is a warrior, probably my favorite Panther of all time.. Absolutely no doubt he can get back to that point, he just isn't there yet.. No knock on him, 99% of us would be still wearing a hospital gown, walking around hospital hallway, feeling sorry for ourselves..
Just a tad realistic with an NFL team drafting him in even a mid round pick.. just doesn't seem likely. Hope im wrong.. If anyone deserves it, it's him.
If you think he's going in the first 3-4 rounds based on the way he's played this year , you're a dreamer. Teams will have severe questions about him. Right now he's a long shot to even be drafted. If he wants out of school badly and is willing to risk being a low round pick or sign as a free agent the he'll jump. Personally I think he's too smart to do that. He's gone. He'll take the 3-4 months after the season to really train and hopefully get back to 100%. He's a solid 3-4 rounder and there's nothing wrong with that. He'd be a fool to return. Thanks and good luck to you James!!!
That's not at the heart of the isuue regarding his likely draft position. The heart of the issue is whether given what he's been through can he return to his prior form. Right now he's not the same back. Teams will have to ponder whether the decline is a conditioning/rust issue or a permanent one which is why today he'd never get drafted in the first 3-4 rounds. If he returns to Pitt and his prior form then he erases these doubts and is drafted where he deserves to be picked.you need a 5 year period before you can say "cured" of cancer.
I said this before during that five year period people take maintenance drugs that are extremely debilitating physically and mentally depending on their situation.you need a 5 year period before you can say "cured" of cancer.
