He says what a great job PSU did all season..at the risk of the entire fan base turning on him!

“I know Penn State has been a second-half team all year,” Conner said. “I didn’t count them out for a second.”

“We were just taking it week by week and it was how the season ended up,” Conner said about his team playing such a big role in the CFP positioning. “I don’t know if our win over Penn State ruined that for them, but if we did, sorry. But it was a fun game — they’re a great team.”

Conner was among those most proud with Pitt’s thrilling win against Penn State.
“This is our state,” he said after the game.

“It’s been great,” Conner said. “I first want to thank God for letting me get back on the field and my teammates for having my back, and the whole city. My team, we believe in each other and we rally around each other and had some big games this year.

“I’m really just looking forward to Christmas in New York City — there’s a lot of tradition in that stadium,” Conner said. “It’s going to be a great week.”

He is all class and pennst did have a great season for them, makes Pitt look even better that Oklahoma st, Clemson and pennst all did so well.

After the game, there was a lot of mutual respect between Conner and Barkley.

In fairness, no one from either team was around during the days of the bad blood between Pitt and UPS head coach Biggie Ratt, so the passion among the players isn't as strong as it is among us older fans.

Conner has been loved by all of our foes. And good reason, the dude is courageous and had a pretty tough hurdle that he overcame with complete class and inspiration

Biggie Rat. Love it. I have a button: BURY THE MOLE with Biggie's picture. Bought it on the walk up Cardiac in 1983.

Was the Pinstripe bowl around when the Yankees played in old Yankee Stadium?
No. This is the third incarnation of Yankee Stadium. The original and the "Steinbrenner rebuild" occupied land next door to the current facility. That said, college football has a long history in the Houses of Babe Ruth. Army and Notre Dame played many games in the original, for example. I believe Pitt's last game in New York City was at Shea Stadium vs Syracuse in the mid-60s. Pitt hasn't played Army at West Point since the early 80s. I'm told Michie Stadium is a spectacular venue for football.

I would love to see Conner return next year so he has the opportunity to play at Beaver Stadium!
There's nothing special about Beaver Stadium.

It's a erector set with 100,000 bench seats in the most boring place in the state.

I love when there is a big play. Everyone stands up, but then there is a rush to sit down even before the play ends so that you can claim your butt space. Kind of like their version of the wave.

By the way... James did amazing last night! I couldnt be more proud of the guy if I was his father. He garnered far more fans, and Holly Rowe had my allergies kicking up
