He does not put a body on anyone.
I am not so sure he is an upgrade over Fede one bit.
And he makes GDG look like a physical presence.

Certainly soft as charmin today. Just embarrassing how soft he is playingHe does not put a body on anyone.

I'm not sure how we fix the rebounding problem with this team, and if we don't, we can kiss any dreams of a deep run goodbye. He does not put a body on anyone.

He is. But then again, they ALL are playing soft relative to the opposition.Certainly soft as charmin today. Just embarrassing how soft he is playing
Yeah, not sure how you can single out just Corhen, it’s definitely a team effort in allowing MSU to crash the boards the way they are.Entire team is soft tonight. Playing like they don’t want to break a nail

You cant really fix or coach rebounding. This team doesn't have those types of players. Maybe you need to sit GDG and play Kante more. Not worried about a deep run. Just get in and see what happens.
You can fix boxing out, or more accurately not boxing out.You cant really fix or coach rebounding. This team doesn't have those types of players. Maybe you need to sit GDG and play Kante more. Not worried about a deep run. Just get in and see what happens.

But I wish the problem was as simple as that. One reason why MSU is crashing the boards so easily is because, as a team we have a problem keeping the man we’re defending in front of us. The opponent gets around our defender, another Pitt defender slides over to pick him up and that just leaves an opponent open to easily crash the boards.
It’s not a problem that just showed up in this game. It’s been apparent the last few games, a primary reason why we looked so bad on defense for one half of both the Wisky and OSU gamesDunn helps that. Its concerning though why our other players cant keep guys in front. Capel has had to go zone at times simply because we cant guard anyone.

Yeah, I'm worried how our defense has completely fallen off a cliff since Dunn went out.Dunn helps that. Its concerning though why our other players cant keep guys in front. Capel has had to go zone at times simply because we cant guard anyone.
I mentioned that in a gamethread recently and was immediately hit with how he is much better than Fede and blah blah blah. I agree with you. Corhen is offering nothing right now. I couldn't believe my eyes during the game when a Miss State player was driving to the rim and Corhen just stepped aside and let the dude score. Offered no resistance at all. Like he didn't want to have any contact. It was beyond pathetic. He does not put a body on anyone.

We don't want him playing out on the perimeter, GDG already does that and it's not working. Corhen is a worse shooter than Guillermo.I was really worried about his FSU rebounding numbers but it was said he played out on the perimeter a lot. I will give him a pass tonight but he's probably not going to be a "plus" rebounder. Fede wasnt either.
I think Papa has shown some stuff, but the lack of defensive rebounding is a concern there. All our Cs are significantly flawed.I mentioned that in a gamethread recently and was immediately hit with how he is much better than Fede and blah blah blah. I agree with you. And although I like Papa Kante he's obviously still a work in progress and needs to beef up. And GDG is like a twig. So there is a big problem right now with the 5 spot.
why do fans wait till they get manhandled in the NINTH GAME before proclaiming the team is week and has no presence. Maybe this that one off that happens once in a while. He does not put a body on anyone.

When was the last time we had a 5 or really any post presence that wasn't flawed?? It's been a while!!I think Papa has shown some stuff, but the lack of defensive rebounding is a concern there. All our Cs are significantly flawed.
Well in fairness, up until game 9 we were not embarrassing, not manhandled, and not outrebounded by 20+ in any of our games. Sure we didn't play well in any aspect, but, I don't know how any Pitt fan could feel good about this team if it's up against an athletic and physical frontline. Fortunately for us, the ACC is more finesse.why do fans wait till they get manhandled in the NINTH GAME before proclaiming the team is week and has no presence. Sheesh guys. Come up for air and hang on.

As a side note, Shefflin from Clemson got 22 rebounds last night against Kentucky leaving me to wonder how many he might pluck against us.

Corhen though likes to take 3's which is not at all what he should be doing. He needs to work on his rebounding.Corhen should be a five only, unless there are foul problems. Same with Amadou Kante. And oppositely, Guillermo should only be playing the four unless there is foul trouble.
I’ve mentioned it at least 3 times so far.why do fans wait till they get manhandled in the NINTH GAME before proclaiming the team is week and has no presence. Maybe this that one off that happens once in a while.

Just got done reading the recent posts in this thread and your last 2 paragraphs confuse me. Just a few posts up you gave a like to Joe’s post stating GDG should only play the 4. Now you’re posting shortly after that you like GDG at the 5. What am I misinterpreting here?I’ve mentioned it at least 3 times so far.
I am not giving up on the team either. I think k he are a very good team and will continue to get better.
But, we do need to get tougher. I was worried about Corhen as a rebounder and he has done nothing to make me feel any better.
I am starting to like the idea of G back at 5 with Zack at 4 with Dunn, Leggett and Lowe.
G does not get the same shots as a 4 than he does as a 5 and we need him to start hitting some 3’s. G has also rebounded better than Corhen to date.
??? Not sure what game you were watching, but I assure you, they weren't making everything with a hand in their face. Pitt's defense was atrocious all night.I know they played bad. But it did feel like they made everything with a hand in their face and we missed wide open shots. The one area I am worried about was the rebounding stats. There was a clear lack of effort on the floor and it showed up in the huge difference in this category. I didn’t expect us to out rebound them but it should have been way closer. It wasn’t just Corhen they all need to do better.
Same game as you. I’m not saying Pitt’s defense was great…in fact it was awful underneath. But they did cover the perimeter fairly well. I’m also not saying every three pointer was contested but a lot of them were. Whereas so many of our 3 pointers were missed wide open shots??? Not sure what game you were watching, but I assure you, they weren't making everything with a hand in their face. Pitt's defense was atrocious all night.

At least spell his name right when you offer your criticism.Corem sleep walking. Dude is awful.
