Cost to fire Narduzzi

Yes back in 2016 some people on the board wanted Jamie Dixon fired (got Pitt into the NCAA almost every year) and replacing him was the answer to improving Pitt Basketball immediately.

Well it is now 2025 and Pitt basketball is now starting to get better.

Still waiting for Pitt to get into the NCAA's every year going forward to finally attain the success that Jamie had when he left.

Same logic of the same people who now want Narduzzi let go.

Pitt has about the same amount of tourney wins as Dixon does since he left.

Not to mention, TCU is trending down while we are trending up.

Dixon hasnt finished above .500 in conference play since 2013-14.

Jamie Dixon was a staple in the Top 10 for the first part of his tenure. He secured 2 #1 seeds, and multiple other high seeds. Very often, Pitt was thought of a team who can make a Final Four or possibly even win a NC. It didn't work out in the NCAAT but we were there and had a chance. The second part of his tenure was just OK landing 3 bad seeds, 1 NIT, and 1 CBI.

Dixon and Narduzzi arent in the same stratosphere. Narduzzi has had 1 real good season, has lost 5 or more games in 8 of the last 10 years and is barely over .500 against major D1 schools? Take away 2021 and he's below .500 against major D1's. He is a below average coach who lucked into Kenny coming back

The good news is that he's clearly stupid enough to make a costly error in judgement. It's the same school that fired Wannstedt, let him have a press conference and make a mockery of the situation, and then proceeded to hire Mike Haywood. Who they fired 2 weeks later to hire Todd Graham.

Then let Barry Alvarez park coach mumbles here for a training period.

Also the school that pushed out Walt(who was hired to replace the disaster that was JM2) and hired Wannstedt.

Same school who previously told Gottfried to get lost and and hired Paul Hackett.

I honestly don't care what they do, but I'm pretty sure they'll f*** it up. I could definitely see them eating $25m to fire Duzz and hiring the football equivalent of Kevin Stallings. Would it surprise anyone?

No it wouldn't. But I'd be more surprised if Pat Narduzzi competes for an ACC title ever again.
