With all the up in the air about playing or not playing and now Stanford dropping 13 sports could all this end the NCAA. I have always felt that a lot of athletic programs were in very bad financial situation due to the cancellation of the Hoops tournament. That is why I have always felt that the Football season would be played in some way or form due completely to financial considerations of the athletic departments and their total financial collapse if all sports were cancelled this year.

Being that other than the championship semi and finals are contracted with the NCAA through the TV networks. But all major conferences have their own TV contracts and networks. If the NCAA were to say no football as a governing body could the 5 power conferences refuse to not play and in a sense drop from the NCAA and form some other entity? Play their conference games on their own Networks with their own TV contracts then lump together for some sort of pay for view championship? Just a thought. I really think good or bad when it is all said and done money and the need for it by college athletic departments is going to override everything.
