Very entertaining high school hoop game tonight, North Allegheny over Butler 87-70. Butler played well, but NA's full court press was too much for Butler to handle.

Curtis went off for 41 points. 14-18 from the free throw line, 5-6 from 3 point land.

NA plays 10 players, constant rotation, full court press. Curtis probably would have had 50 if he played more minutes.

Not sure how other people define "court presence"and "floor game" but Curtis has it.

Didn't force one shot tonight, probably 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 beautiful steals, and a thunderous dunk on a fast break.

Effortless comes to mind describing his game. Seems very humble, team oriented. Curtis Sr wouldn't have it any other way I'm sure.

Haven't seen anyone this good in person in high school since I saw Geno Thorpe with Shaler a few years ago. Curtis is better.

Not sure how to project a 10th grader, 15 year old, but I gotta believe he's a high major college basketball player. If the kids from Lincoln Park and Mars are better than Curtis, I'd have to see it.

NA had a tall kid (Barnes?) on the bench with a boot on his foot, probably 6'6 or so. He's supposed to be really good also.

I was hoping to see Curtis Sr. or Paul Zeise in the crowd (Zeise's younger son starts for NA, average player, plays hard). Neither one was there that I saw.

I hope we see Curtis Jr in a Panther uniform down the road, he's good.

Thanks alot for the update. Yeah that was Barnes that was hurt. How tall do you think Aiken is? Does he play PG, SG or both?

PG - he's 6'1 and jumps Center for NA.
I went to the Mars game to see carmody. They have a fun team to watch, for older fans similar to Blackhawk with calabria.I felt they had at least 4 college level players on their team and they can shoot. Team to keep an eye on

Barnes would be the son of our AD, right? And yeah, I will see Mars when they come back to Highlands which they beat last night. That should be a fun game as Highlands should have Thimons back and both teams can fill it up.

How good is Carmody?

I was told by other posters he isn't over 6 feet tall and is behind some other local recruits. Your thoughts, because I would like to see him in Pitt script.

If he's 6-1, he is now bigger than his father. And if he's jumping center, probaby more athletic. Those are big differences from where he was a year or two ago. Of course, he is now a year older than his class and might have his full growth.

He was held back a year because of lack of physical development. Good for him if he is developing. By all accounts of those who know him, Curtis Sr is a good guy. There had been a number of reports that his son was handled a bit like a primadonna at an earlier age and moved from one school to a different one over disagreements on his use/development. Those moves seem to have worked.

It's a fine line between wanting the best for your kid and becoming a Ron Rowan-type controlling father. Curtis Sr. has been a loyal Pitt man. It would be a nice story if Curtis Jr. has the skills to play at a high level and follows in his father's footprints.

Harve - he's definitely over 6'0 and he did jump center. He has good hops, as I was watching him when he rebounds. And seems to have long arms. I think he'll play "bigger" than 6'1 at the next level. I don't think size is a problem with him, he has a sweet stroke, handles and passes well, and like I said above he seems like a real team player, very humble, good rapport/attentive with the NA coaching staff during time outs.

my guess is he improves quite a bit during his next two years in high school and becomes a pretty major recruit. Hope he ends up in blue and gold.

Carmody is very similar in skill level to Dante Calabria who went to Carolina.Only a soph so his recruitment will be based on his improvement. Has a chance to be a very good division 1 player, more athletic than I thought and very unselfish
