Very entertaining high school hoop game tonight, North Allegheny over Butler 87-70. Butler played well, but NA's full court press was too much for Butler to handle.
Curtis went off for 41 points. 14-18 from the free throw line, 5-6 from 3 point land.
NA plays 10 players, constant rotation, full court press. Curtis probably would have had 50 if he played more minutes.
Not sure how other people define "court presence"and "floor game" but Curtis has it.
Didn't force one shot tonight, probably 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 beautiful steals, and a thunderous dunk on a fast break.
Effortless comes to mind describing his game. Seems very humble, team oriented. Curtis Sr wouldn't have it any other way I'm sure.
Haven't seen anyone this good in person in high school since I saw Geno Thorpe with Shaler a few years ago. Curtis is better.
Not sure how to project a 10th grader, 15 year old, but I gotta believe he's a high major college basketball player. If the kids from Lincoln Park and Mars are better than Curtis, I'd have to see it.
NA had a tall kid (Barnes?) on the bench with a boot on his foot, probably 6'6 or so. He's supposed to be really good also.
I was hoping to see Curtis Sr. or Paul Zeise in the crowd (Zeise's younger son starts for NA, average player, plays hard). Neither one was there that I saw.
I hope we see Curtis Jr in a Panther uniform down the road, he's good.
