First off before you go nuts because of the title know that I am a big Pitt fan some would even say a homer(that's OK with me) .
But after last weeks fiasco with the refs there was no way they were going to let OSU lose. The officiating was horrible. Subtle but horrible just the same. The o play calls didn't help but Pitt still wasn't going to get a break.

Here are just three(3) examples.

1.2nd qtr Connors catches a pass and turns it into a big run, it was a great(hard) catch.the defender was all over him -no call.
2. I believe it was late 2nd or early 3rd qtr. Lewis gets called for interference,/pushing. But if you watch and listen to the game even the announcers said it should have been a no call or called on the receiver and that lewis had good position.
3. The play that changed the game 3rd qrt. Receiver catches the ball takes at least three steps (with the ball tucked in) gets submarined and fumbles (again listen to the announcers). After review its called an incompletion. Anywhere else in the country, at any time, at any level that's a catch except stillwater.
Pitt was in the wrong place at the wrong time.refs were to afraid to make the wrong call ,(hence the overturned fumble) and let osu lose again (at home). Thr ncaa, big 12,,and mac all agreed last week was a bad call. They owed OSU a win and Pitt was the next man up.

It would be nice to pull an upset once in a while against a team not named Virginia Tech or Notre Dame when they're having a down year.

No, I did not expect to win. I thought Pitt would lose this game and Clemson. The team actually showed a lot of fight yesterday. A 92 yard bomb the first play of the game and they take the next drive and march it down OK St's throat...I liked that. OK St MANY times punched Pitt in the mouth to the point you thought they would cave in and get blown out...but instead they would jump right back in it. The team just lacks talent right now...and it's on the way.

I feel even more confident about beating UNC after yesterday's game than I did on Friday. We're gonna win the Coastal!

Well... Chance for an upset next week. Carolina will be favored. Also, Miami and Clemson will be favored too. So... Three more chances.

I didn't, but we have to learn how to cover the deep ball and we have to start throwing the ball downfield. Our run offense is tricky, but we can't count on every run getting chunks of yards, especially when we are trailing.

Oh yeah, on their ~60 yard TD run, Whitehead was held....badly, with no call.

But, Conner's TD right before it was close.

well....

someone posted the predictions on this board.

it was something like 17 picked Pitt and 3 picked Ok State

So, according to board members, yes a win was expected.

i for one think they can go to UNC and win. Dont fall flat against the future expected wins,,,and 9-3 is very possibe

I didn't expect a win yesterday and it was a lot closer than I had thought. Well done Pitt and let's move on.

If the ref's don't F up the cmu game, OK St is 2-0 and ranked top 20 and nobody expects us to win.

the line closed at 3.5 at kickoff. vegas basically thought it was a pick'em with OSU being the home team. we were not playing alabama last night.

4th quarter we had multiple chances to run the ball and win the game. we didn't get it done.

It opened at 7. To me that says we were not favored - right?

It was a 1 play game. I'd say that's about as "pick-em" as it gets.

I don't think we will beat UNC, but I still have hope! I give our chances at 40%

no, you are wrong. last year pat beat the teams were suppose to beat. to date, he has zero wins as a dog.

This is simply factually incorrect. We were a 3-1/2 point underdog against Virginia Tech and won 17-13. We were a 3 point underdog against Georgia Tech and won 31-28. And we were a 1 point underdog against Louisville and won 45-34.

That is wrong - we were the dogs at VT, GT, Duke and L'ville.
We actually closed as a one point favorite against Duke, but the other three were all wins as underdogs.
Sorry - I didn't realize the line had closed as us a 1 pt favorite at Duke. I only know this because I have a friend who is a big bettor (and not a Pitt fan) so he kept thanking me last year.

And if he (or she) got in on Pitt early that week he probably got a point or two as well, so to him Pitt would have been an underdog.

Exactly I point. If that doesn't happen I think a different game is called and that's a fumble and a possible upset. The line is not the point (missed by many). But lets move on and win the Coastal.
