He did not invite any local recruits to take an OV this weekend who might poison the recruiting environment. Most of the locals unfortunately have a negative bias (consciously or unconsciously) after years of being constantly bombarded by local media, Nitters and Whoopies, and all the know-it-alls who criticize everything and everyone relentlessly.
Duzz controlled what was presented and who presented the positives that PITT and the City have to offer a recruit. And the recruits fell in love with the campus, the facilities, the academic support programs and Pittsburgh itself. Many recruits claimed that they quickly realized that PITT is the place that they were searching for and that they have found their new "home".
Duzz figured out long ago that to succeed here, he had to establish his program by changing the parameters. Today you saw the fruits of that vision (another thing the recruits mentioned and bought into). Combined with the superb execution by his entire staff, plus PITT's administration who also actively participated with the recruits, today was an historic day for the PITT Football program.
