I may miss on talent level, I don’t miss on character. Been around too many kids. Addition by subtraction
Bummer in some ways. But much better resolved in August than December.
Low character. Great this is resolved. Would’ve ruined this years’ team. Now we have a shot! Prob need to get a late portal kid though

You can add a player up until like 3 weeks into the semester. There’s hundreds still in the portal. They need a body, if only for practice purposes

Is there any indication the new admin had something to do with this? I figured his playing time abroad was a factor.

This dude is very low character and a constant distraction for the team. He has talent but not between the ears!
This just reeks of chancellor incompetence. God I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. How the eff do you allow a kid to go to Europe on your dime THEN kick him out. Embarrassing

She just took office on July 17th. That tour started beginning of August. The fall semester just started. Depends what exactly led to the action at this time, and who wanted it. The cost of one person going on that trip is insignificant to the athletic budget..

It was. A path was put in place for him to return to the team. By all accounts, he continued on that path. Two days before enrollment, Big Joan decided to make her mark, leaving Capel and Lyke to look like fools in the process.
Great high end character move by Pitt to pull this 3 days before classes start. Scumbag move by the university. Idc what the kid did, you don’t do that this late .. especially if nothing else happened.
I wasn’t impressed. To be fair I wasnt overly impressed with any of the guards in the game I watched.
They were saying that they couldn’t get transfer guards to come in because they knew how much talent pitt had coming back at guard including Dior. If we had cut our ties with him, we might have gotten somebody.
Things were going swimmingly for Pitt athletics. You just knew we were going to fire a slug into our own foot. Insert: Your new chancellor.
There is no other explanation besides the staff was blindsided.
You don't wait until nearly September to do this. Period. And you don't tell a kid there is a path to redemption and then pull the rug out from under him. Period.

Probably not. But the time to boot him was LONG ago if that’s what it was. If he wasn’t doing what he’s been instructed to do then that’s another matter but if it’s just because of that incident the timing is dumb.
Maybe more info came to light. I have no idea. But again if this is just from what he did almost a year ago it’s pretty lousy. I was all for him being gone then.
But as someone above said if there was a path and someone just decided to boot him now, that’s pretty effed up.
I am on record in this thread denigrating Pitt’s actions. Doesn’t change the fact the kid is a POS too
