I was really happy when we got Capel but this is has gone on too long now, so after 1 game who do we want!

Forget it. We're not buying him out. I, too, was happy when we hired him. His welcome has long ago expired and his string just ran out. We have to tolerate his toxic environment and extremely poor coaching and recruiting until his contract has expired. Or if he quits. Maybe someone can have the guts to push him to quit.
No. He's likely going to get 22-23 but that will be his last season unless he makes the NIT.
I also think this could be his last season if a) we go 1-19 or b) we have another round of mass transfers in April
And both of those 2 things are highly likely. Making the NIT??? LOL! He'll never do that, no matter where he coaches.
Yeah....Not! We will to be lucky to win double digit wins this season. I don't remember us being this bad! Man we really suck and it has really suprised me that Capel can't recruit! He has never carved out a niche in recruiting that would work here and it has shown and now it is time to part ways.
You can only apply pressure on Pitt to dump Capel by stop buying tickets and stop going to games. Please don't say it's just one game. This program is a disaster and Lyke has to take action. It's her hire. She should fire the Women's bb coach along with Capel. His program is as bad and is her hire too. The fan base, what's left of it, must demand these dismissals. The only tool you have is to withhold your financing of these dumpster fire programs. Let her know of that no coaching change means no ticket purchases. It probably won't work since most of Pitt's bb fans stopped buying tickets before this season and the are not coming with with Capel as coach.
Who wants to take odds that at least one more player gets arrested this year? I say it's even odds.
I'll never say it's just one game and never have for the last 2 years. This coach has built a very toxic culture in Pitt basketball and recruits know it. His players know it but are thankful they have scholarships. Some will move on as soon as they can. This is the worst shape this program has been in since....I don't recall. I'm old and I can't remember when it was this bad.
Can't recruit, can't coach, can't develop a positive culture, and can't keep players are not good traits for a coach making millions. They're not even good traits for a volunteer coach of third graders.
I still think we win 2 or 3 ACC games which is probably enough in itself for him to avoid being fired after this season but what I do think is very likely is that there are more mass transfers. I'm not sure Hugley can realistically go elsewhere but lets say Femi and 4-5 others leave and his recruiting class sucks. I wouldn't be surprised if only Hugley and Burton remained on the roster after this season because they pretty much have to.
After what I have seen from Capel going into year 4, getting to the NIT THIS YEAR is a bare minimum or he has to be thrown to the curb.
Way worse than Year 1. We may win more ACC games than Year 1 because the league was really good that year but this team is so much worse.
It’s not happening. The players aren’t there. It’s not like we would be this team “underachieving” if we don’t.
The move has to be made based on what is done in recruiting as well. I know that’s risky, but it’s not just about how this team performs.
Great plan. Which mid-major guy is excellent at coaching and developing and not just a lottery ticket?
Remember when some Pitt fans wanted Jamie Dixon gone so Pitt could get a good basketball coach.

You need to know who you are. We should have spent more money on assistants and facility upgrades under Dixon. We have essentially burned 20 million dollars by hiring Stallings and Capel and have become a bottom feeder in the process.
Yeah,but in year one you had some promising talent to build upon.All that talent is now playing elsewhere or getting paid.This team has talent, but it's parts don't seem to mesh well, at least not yet.Injuries and suspensions didn't help.
