Do you want Paul Chryst --who was generally boring and underwhelming as Pitt's last coach-- to win his Wisconsin coaching debut?
Yes - no question. He's a good man who took on almost a unwinable situation here and left the cupboards fairly full.Do you want Paul Chryst --who was generally boring and underwhelming as Pitt's last coach-- to win his Wisconsin coaching debut?
Will be watching WISKY SPECIAL TEAMS!Yes he helped move Pitt forward and is a good guy…..nowFraud on the other hand should get spanked by aTm
Boy in his few years here, our d never attacked like wisky did on bamas opening drive
Can you say out-House, Chryst wanted to hire him until Barry stepped in
When he was here, he had a guy, House, who was not nearly ready to be a P5 D coordinator, and he definitely did not teach aggressive defense. When he went to Wisconsin, he want to bring him along until the AD, Barry Alvarez, squashed the idea...Explain please
I'd prefer that Wisconsin wins but to say that I am actively rooting for them to win is overstating it a little.
I agree with the dominant opinion that Chryst was a nice man and a decent but unremarkable coach who inherited a really awful situation and made it better. For that, I thank him and wish him well going forward.
I'm not going to go out and buy Wisconsin T-shirt or anything like that but of course I don't wish him any ill will either.
Now, Fraud Scam on the other hand, I have no regard for that charlatan and I do actively root against Arizona State.
The only game I really care about in a given week is the one that involves the Pitt Panthers.
That's giving him too much credit.Yes - no question. He's a good man who took on almost a unwinable situation here and left the cupboards fairly full.
Hence the "fairly".That's giving him too much credit.
Let's go with he's a good man who built a strong amd deep O line and running game here. Period.
How is the cupboard full outside of OL and RB?
And as for unwinnable, please. He inherited a tough situation but went 6-6 not just in his first year, but in years 2 and 3 as well, against less than overwhelming schedules. By the most important measure,, that's not improvement.
He left us better than he found us from an offensive personnel standpoint. That's about it. As big of a POS as he is, I have little doubt that Graham would have done quite a bit better over that span.

The question is moot. No one in his right mind thought that Wisky had a shot to win that game.Do you want Paul Chryst --who was generally boring and underwhelming as Pitt's last coach-- to win his Wisconsin coaching debut?
I can see liking Saban but liking Lane Kiffen has me questioning WHY !!! The guy is a spoiled brat who has gotten much of his start because of his father. While I like his aggressive offensive mindset at times his arrogance overshadows anything positive he is capable of doing. He is a younger version of Todd Graham in personality.I'm rooting for Alabama simply because I like Lane Kiffin & Nick Saban.
That qualifier does little when you use the term "full cupboard". It's obvious you think more of PC as a coach than most, I suspect more because he's a decent, humble guy than on his own coaching merit. Hence the picking Wisky to beat Bama where the people who earn a living making those picks universally had Wisky losing by double digits. A Wisky win was just never going to happen. FWIW, that has nothing to do with PC, more to do with the overall superiority of Bama.Hence the "fairly".
Yep you're right. But frankly, I've moved on and am grateful he got us to where he did. I bear no ill will and hope he succeeds at Wisky. That qualifier does little when you use the term "full cupboard". The truth is PC left us marginally better than he found us. The O line quality and depth were by far his biggest contributions. He virtually ignored the D entirely both in recruiting and preparation. We lack depth and talent on that side of the ball. He also failed to recruit the QB position adequately. At the end of the day, we're still a rebuild job at least on D.
I continue to believe Wisky is in for a slump on PC's watch. Maybe not this year, and certainly not because of one lopsided loss against a vastly superior opponent, but over time, they will have a drop off on his watch. From what I saw of his three years here, I don't believe he has the head coaching DNA. He's a nice guy--so were Brady Hoke, Gerry Faust and Foge Fazio.
