I want Wisky to win because I normally root for the underdog. Would have rooted for Wisky even if Chryst wasn't their coach. Interested to watch Wisky's defense, as Pitt's defense was laughable in the Chryst era

I have no ill will toward him. Anyone in his spot would have done the same.

I don't think he's a very good coach, but he at least wasn't a bad person.

I work with an Alabama fan, fairly obnoxious. Not a real Chryst, he was mediocre here at best, but, would love to see Bama get thumped. Will likely see a Cheesehead bone headed decision or two unless Barry can stop him.

Boy in his few years here, our d never attacked like wisky did on bamas opening drive

Explain please
When he was here, he had a guy, House, who was not nearly ready to be a P5 D coordinator, and he definitely did not teach aggressive defense. When he went to Wisconsin, he want to bring him along until the AD, Barry Alvarez, squashed the idea...

I'd prefer that Wisconsin wins but to say that I am actively rooting for them to win is overstating it a little.

I agree with the dominant opinion that Chryst was a nice man and a decent but unremarkable coach who inherited a really awful situation and made it better. For that, I thank him and wish him well going forward.

I'm not going to go out and buy Wisconsin T-shirt or anything like that but of course I don't wish him any ill will either.

Now, Fraud Scam on the other hand, I have no regard for that charlatan and I do actively root against Arizona State.

The only game I really care about in a given week is the one that involves the Pitt Panthers.

Agree 100%

As a person, nice guy, seems genuine. As a coach, boring, underwhelming, no personality or charisma. Was happy to see him move on.

I went back and forth. A week ago, I wanted Alabama to roll them. When the game started, I wanted Wisconsin. As Alabama pulled away, I did enjoy it some. I particularly enjoyed watching Foster play well and burn the coach that couldn't get him to Pitt.

In the end, I probably would've been happy either way. I do wish him success despite Barry Alvarez because I think Chryst is one of the few good guys in college football. I just don't think he's a great coach, recruiter, personality, etc.

Yes - no question. He's a good man who took on almost a unwinable situation here and left the cupboards fairly full.
That's giving him too much credit.

Let's go with he's a good man who built a strong amd deep O line and running game here. Period.

How is the cupboard full outside of OL and RB?

And as for unwinnable, please. He inherited a tough situation but went 6-6 not just in his first year, but in years 2 and 3 as well, against less than overwhelming schedules. By the most important measure,, that's not improvement.

He left us better than he found us from an offensive personnel standpoint. That's about it. As big of a POS as he is, I have little doubt that Graham would have done quite a bit better over that span.

Glad Chryst lost. Showed it wasn't all Pitt admin to blame for some football blunders. As far as Foster, could care less for a player who leaves to go to Alabama. Did you watch Wisky to see what Caputo would do?

Hence the "fairly".

Agreed and what he has done with ASU proves that a bit. I've often wondered if Graham would still be here if there had been an administration change prior to his hire. His reputation precedes him, of course, given the way he has left several programs... But makes one wonder what kind of snake oil Smiley sold to the king of the snake oil salesmen, and what role that played in his early departure.

Do you want Paul Chryst --who was generally boring and underwhelming as Pitt's last coach-- to win his Wisconsin coaching debut?
The question is moot. No one in his right mind thought that Wisky had a shot to win that game. ;)

I'm rooting for Alabama simply because I like Lane Kiffin & Nick Saban.
I can see liking Saban but liking Lane Kiffen has me questioning WHY !!! The guy is a spoiled brat who has gotten much of his start because of his father. While I like his aggressive offensive mindset at times his arrogance overshadows anything positive he is capable of doing. He is a younger version of Todd Graham in personality.

Hail to PITT !!!

That qualifier does little when you use the term "full cupboard". It's obvious you think more of PC as a coach than most, I suspect more because he's a decent, humble guy than on his own coaching merit. Hence the picking Wisky to beat Bama where the people who earn a living making those picks universally had Wisky losing by double digits. A Wisky win was just never going to happen. FWIW, that has nothing to do with PC, more to do with the overall superiority of Bama.

The truth is PC left us marginally better than he found us. The O line quality and depth were by far his biggest contributions. He virtually ignored the D entirely both in recruiting and preparation. We lack depth and talent on that side of the ball. He also failed to recruit the QB position adequately. At the end of the day, we're still a rebuild job at least on D.

I continue to believe Wisky is in for a slump on PC's watch. Maybe not this year, and certainly not because of one lopsided loss against a vastly superior opponent, but over time, they will have a drop off on his watch. From what I saw of his three years here, I don't believe he has the head coaching DNA. He's a nice guy--so were Brady Hoke, Gerry Faust and Foge Fazio.

ksquared, A lot of coaches have gotten a jump on their coaching careers because of family ties, Kiffin seems to be one of the few who gets blasted all the time for it. He's a quality coach. Yes, he is arrogant, but that can be said for almost every good coach. Kiffy is also young, and I think he has probably grown up some over the last few years.

Yep you're right. But frankly, I've moved on and am grateful he got us to where he did. I bear no ill will and hope he succeeds at Wisky.

Chryst is a nice Coach and always wanted to be at Wisky and Alvarez wanted him to get a shot somewhere before bringing him back to Wisky that he had no choice after 2 coaches in 3 years left him? There is no upside in talking Chryst down and he is now the leader of his own destiny of fate now? He left Pitt and Pitt will live without him!

Lane Kiffin has had character issues dating back to UTenn and then USC and many support Bama losing with him running the Offense, but he is clearly a better Coordinator than Head coach? Saban is a great Head Coach and if he hired him, he did so because Kiffin is good or he wouldn't that job! But that doesn't mean he can win back fans just maybe he may get a shot of another Head coaching job someday?

What I saw yesterday is the Wisconsin and most likely a number of other Teams are in Bama Class right now? Same with Texas and Notre Dame and ASU with A&M!

Wisconsin has all season to allow Chryst show how great of coach he is with inheriting pretty good team of Andersen Juniors and Seniors that abandon them to go to Oregon State.

More worried about Coach Pat & Staff making Pitt better than any of the above!
