Yeah this guy is total scum. He was bashing Pitt on twitter last year after we beat Penn St. He is the biggest Penn St cheerleader in the world. I responded to his tweet and was not disrespectful in anyway but he simply blocked me.

The Trib has this ahole Nitter Grad writing the article on the Pitt game, and the PG has a story on a FICTIONAL character that takes a cheap shot at Pitt. How f’in ridiculous and biased!

i was channel flipping last night, and I came across the Nit-Montana game that was being played at Bryce Jordan. I noticed that the "crowd" (a loosely used term) was rather sparse, so I looked up the attendance on the ESPN website:
Bryce Jordan seats 15,261....attendance last night was 5,854......38%.
For a school that brags about their 107,000 strong (!!!!), their basketball attendance is an embarrassment. Terrible.

Flame kid? Are you talking about Wilson-Frame? He is a very solid player who will be a major contributor this year and next year.
Our attendance was worse, but..... it really shows how much they flat out don't care about basketball. This is going to be Pitt's worst season in a long time, almost no hope of a tourney berth. PSU on the other hand, this is one of the few seasons in school history that they enter the season with legit hopes.
But there's no way that you can compare Pitt's on-campus student population with theirs. I'd guess that they have triple the amount of students on campus than Pitt does. And as you say, this is one of their better teams, yet they still don't support it.
Yes, I agree with everything you said, just pointing out that our attendance is awful. It's not impossible to fill the Pete, we did it for many years. At Pitt men's hoops is by far the biggest winter sport, if they build the program back up the fans will be back. At psu, wrestling completely dominates their winters with hockey gaining ground recently, they simply do not care about hoops.
Pitt had an embarrassing crowd, an all-time low. Penn state's crowd wasn't embarrassing, what's embarrassing is that was one of their better crowds.
You could be right....the numbers that I quoted were directly from the ESPN website. If the Nits "fluffed" their attendance numbers, it wouldn't be the first time. They've even been known to "fluff" their football numbers, too......
Which is why I wanted Pelini during the Narduzzi hire. Yeah, he may be another retread, and yeah, Pelini may not win the big games....at least the press conferences and interviews would be must-see TV.

I think a lot of the Pitt fan whining about the unfair local media is overblown. But I do think it's entirely valid with Biertempfel and Ron Cook.

But the other clowns there is no humor about it....Biertempfel was removed way back from the Pitt football beat, used to wear a PSU hat to practice. Need to ask for him to be removed again. If they are offended so what? The trib is a glorified blog these days.
I guess my question is, did anyone at the PG think to write an article about the episode South Park did trolling PSU about the Sandusky scandal? Hmmm, no? Well that seems weird...So I guess it's only newsworthy when Pitt gets dragged by a TV show.
I just watched the scene and the character who made these comments is an arrogant, douchebag, that is hopped up on painkillers. The character is the one that looks bad to me.
To me he's a much more offensive style Nasir Robinson with a good outside shot.Nasir was good for our team at the time but he didn't bring much other than rebounding and D.
The best part of that episode was that they did it at least 10 different times throughout the show. Most at odd interludes, very funny.
I guess that is what happens when you have losers in the Pittsburgh media that have a cardboard cutout of a coach who enabled a pedophile.
I don't know how things work at the trib, as it's essentially a blog. But the writers don't write the headline. That said, it reeks of something Biertiemple would do because he has a weird and sick thing about Pitt. He's unprofessional and should never report on anything that has to do with the school.
