let's beat Wake Forest first but if we win folks should think about staying at the Ballantyne Resort Hotel (upscale) in the Ballantyne area in south Charlotte. Cowfish Grill is overrated. So many better places to go for dinner in Charlotte.

May I ask what area of Lake Norman? That's where I live. You can probably rent out some nice houses right on the water this time of year for a good price. Curious if you're on the east (Mooresville/Cornelius/Davidson) or west (Denver) side of the lake.

Most of us are coming from the north I would assume. What's a good location? And I would assume parking is easy with a major city next to interstates. I seem to remember parking being really easy for the tire bowl but that was 15 years ago

Pros: Affordable and it isn't a hotel.
Cons: You don't get a free breakfast

It's in Mooresville near the duke plant. Was looking for a place with a fire pit and a dock

If you're looking for something casual to eat (excellent bar food) and a good tap array, checkout Duckworth's (15 minutes away). Best cheesesteak (I'm from philly) outside of Philly...better than most in Philly too. Everything on their menu is excellent. I can't recommend much else coming from the northside of the lake.

Seems to me the split in Charlotte is about even between Clemson SC UNC NCst and duke fans

There will be thousands of Clemson fans coming up 77. There are tons coming from Hilton Head Island, Charleston and Columbia.

Bar I like a lot is VGBG (Very German beer Gardene). Great selection of beer good food and lots of games outside (cornhole bioarda etc

As other have said. You can stay in Fort Mill or Rock Hill if you don't mind the 30 min drive. Also I travel to PA for work. If you live near Allentown the flights are direct and prices are good most times.

As long as you pay attention to the ratings and select something with a great one, you will be happy.

Lots of good places still available on air bnb. Nice houses in the suburbs and a few decent looking apartments in the city.

Have used Airbnb or HomeAway at least 25-30 times and only had one experience I’d qualify as unpleasant. Have not stayed at a hotel in many years.
