Yeah. Like immediately after change. As did many others. I'm gonna frequent both boards then gravitate to whichever I find better overtime.
I put Peak in the goober category with Bostick, so I was hoping most of the better posters stuck around here, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
DT is a good man and a good poster. But there are plenty of others too. And many are still here.
We have two sites now. It’s like coke and pepsi. Both are fine but I’m used to this one. Until that site provides better content, I’ll remain here. But I suspect I’ll be a member of both places.
DT probably has a back room deal.

These damn NIL dollars are even destroying our cherished chatting sites. Our sites and posters are vanishing faster than Duzz landing a local recruit!
I don't want to interact with the sanctimonious pudwhackers like that Pugs dude and a few others. I guess many feel a loyalty to Peak, but honestly - recruiting info is next to worthless anymore, and by the time he divulges it "the field" has usually floated it someplace anyway.
Maybe I'll go over eventually if this place becomes desolate, but a lot of this mass panic feels and switchover feels like what we make fun of recruits for doing when there is an assistant coaching change. Does it honestly change that much?

I like the feel of this board better. I’ll frequent both. It will ultimately be the posters that determine which is better. So don’t be jagoffs.
If Peak had a store and I shopped there every day because it’s on my way from home because it provided me all the goods I needed…and then he moved 2 miles down the road and someone else moved into his old store front…I’m going to continue to shop at the old storefront because it’s convenient for me as long as the goods are still there.
I’m sure I’ll shop at Chris’ new store when I’m in his area and I’ll be cordial and say hi, but he made a decision to take things elsewhere because that was best for him and that’s his right. I’d do the same thing. But I’ll continue to shop at the old place provided it continues to provide value.
I think this is a big risk for Peak.

It's gonna get pretty cliquey over there, I'm guessing. You could kind of tell who on the pay board was friends with Chris and/or Jim outside of this board. Kind of felt like the opinion police. But I would imagine they've all followed.
Oh well - let the ratings wars begin! Lot of big names jumping over to WCW. Who will be our Rivals Stone Cold Steve Austin and put us back on top?

Sites like this and other media that traditionally relied heavily on high school recruiting (especially football recruiting) for their customers have to really reinvent themselves, would have to imagine.
It has all changed with NIL, the portal and so much liberalization with regard to all of the player movement that’s allowed now. A college signs a high school recruit and there is no guarantee that he’ll ever play at the place he originally signed with. Or even if he does, he may only be there for a year.
What will make the difference for me is the value of the poster community. The accuracy, validity and knowledge provided by people who post their message on boards like this. I try hard to separate the rice from the rat 💩. So the amount of good information provided by well-intentioned posters, who have Pitt’s success as their primary interest is what will be the ultimate determination of where I choose to spend my time.
I’m sure many would pay to make you go away.

Agree with you. The quality of the conversation of the posters is paramount.
A recruiting or insider tidbit is nice, but it is quality of the interactions that keep a message board together.
This board is so much better in terms of layout, etc., than 247's. The issue right now is the free board over there is dead.
I may post here also. In general, I like Pitt Hoops talk but not nearly as much at the moment of course.

Why exactly did Peak leave? I heard what he said but it seems there has to be more to it than that.
They found an old tweet where the CEO of Rivals proclaimed that Phish sucks.
There's always more to it than what is on the surface or said in a post.
I took a look over at 247 and it's mostly dead on the free boards. I'm not paying for it until it can prove of some value. And the layout is pretty sparse. I can get the same info here and the layout is much better.
Probably the same reason anyone leaves a job. Better offer.

Ok, so I thought this site on this board was going away, I signed up over at 247, glad this is still here for the reasons stated earlier...
Do we think that was intentional? That Chris led us to believe this place was going away? That was my original thought. I didn’t know what I’d wake up to on 3/1. Figured this page would be a bad link or something and I’d go over there and sign up.
Did you hear him on his YouTube channel? I still subscribe to that. He said the recruiting network/contributors are better there. That was the gist of it.
But I’m sure they made him a good offer, knowing he’d bring over a large % of his customer base.
As far as the recruiting network, who cares. That era is over.
I think the recruiting business is dying, especially at a place like Pitt. Maybe at the blue bloods, it still matters but the Pitt's of the world have to live in the portal. I, personally, have gone from knowing the whole back story of every recruit to not even knowing their name until they crack the 2 deep.
I think it was done for 2 reasons:
- lower hosting fees
- the CBS partnership gives them a chance to sell more subscriptions. If you pay for 247, you get Paramount+/Showtime. That’s basically like getting 247 for free
I miss the old days when there was two message boards with Rivals and Scout. I’d like to check out over there but for some reason I can’t log into an account I apparently had there that I don't remember having. Regardless I will absolutely post in both places if possible. I do like the banter here and am used to this format…and that doesn’t seem like it will change anytime soon. I wonder if they will eventually have a premium intro offer here like that do over there now?
