As defacto defensive coordinator. Admit that stoping the run first philosophy of using the safeties to stop the rum is just not worth it when ypu are getting beat deep every game . Have Bates visit mike tomlin a hof coach and insert a zone pass coverage defense

Maybe he can learn how to acquire top-end talent to execute that defense from Tomlin as well.

He admitted in the morning paper he cant recruit at the clemson level but needs to coach up the lesser talent his stop the run philosophy is better suited to the steelers circa 1975

Even the dumbest of the dumb know we can’t recruit anywhere close to the level of Clemson so that shouldn’t be a surprise. The large majority of defensive coordinators at the college level believe in stopping the run first.

Not to the extent Narduzzi does. I swear if you asked him is it better to hold a team to low rushing yards but give up 52 points, or give up a ton of rushing yards but give 42 points, he’d take the 52. It’s as if he thinks how many rushing yards you allow is more important than how many points you give up.
Its 2020, containing the run is much less important than it was 10 years ago.

Few can and that's fine but can he recruit at the UNC level?

Lawrence had 403 yards passing yesterday. Take that running game.
