Duzz = Wanny Lite

Shhhh, you might upset Pollyanna JokePa who thinks a 7-0 Pitt leads means automatic victories.

they didn't blow it though. Please tell me you are not defending the incredible list of terrible losses by DW.
No but Narduzzi is not showing me much of anything to be honest. Way too much single coverage on defense when he knows our secondary blows. He is supposed to be a defensive guru isn't he?

So you are recomending safeties drop back and defend the pass this game? No thanks.

Look I am recommending that something needs to change.
the problem is, PITT needs 8-9 guys at the LOS to defend this offense. They must force their secondary players to guard their man one on one. It's painful to watch, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point.

Jury's still out chief. Was one lucky play and a boneheaded decision by GT on 4th down from blowing this game. And he already gagged away the OSU and NC games.

Games where they should have got their ass kicked. I'll take gagging away a game over getting your ass kicked. The program is headed in the right direction. Sorry you don't have it in you to see that.

I love guys like you jack... Even a win is a loss... LOL! I'm putting your estrogen ass on ignore. You and Poker can have nice conversations without me having to read this nonsense....

Why all the crying. We won !!!and for once the offense looked alive. 1 bad series where they had to punt. And 1 turnover om a promising drive that would have put the game away without the fumble. Either way stop crying.

not even close. let me know when HCPN starts losing to teams they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to come to PITT for a game.
Thats how I see it. DW and PC lost to teams that Pitt had no business losing to. PN hasn't had a horrible loss and not only that he hasn't lost when he has been favored by double digits yet. Those are the games that make a big difference. VA is probably one of those teams where Pitt is favored by 10 so its a test for PN and Pitt to see if they can continue to win games they should win.

That's fair, and I agree today's game is one Wanny usually would have lost. Virginia will be a good marker.

I am concerned that the defense seems to have regressed even since last year, given that defense is Narduzzi's specialty. Frankly, I expect him to get more out of less than perhaps other coaches.

This style of d is night and day different schematically from last year - EDIT - it's not different at all. I was thinking about Chryst's defense and had a brain fart. And it's still mostly Chryst's players other than Whitehead who play.

I count myself among those sick of saying/hearing the new coach deserves a few years. But he does. He just does not have the players to do what he wants to do. If this is still happening in a couple years it'll be a MAJOR concern.

I think he should adjust a little in the meantime and I saw a little help here and there today but he's not bending much.

He had even less of his own players last year...
So that dog don't hunt .

I don't know about that. Considering we have 8 or 9 starters back from last years team who finished in the middle of the pact ( heck we shut down a 10-1 Iowa team at their place). To becoming 127 th out of 128 teams in the NCAA. A year later. After kids being in the system a year longer and supposedly getting bigger and stronger a year older.

There's something else broke than talent

Point taken. And admittedly I had a brain fart and was thinking about Chryst's D and his recruits.

I should have said given a chance to get his guys on the field after some coaching/practice/physical development. Clearly they could be out there now but I guess the staff doesn't feel they're ready.

You may be right and as I said above I had a brain cramp. Only time will tell. However I'm sure the other coaches noticed his stubbornness and game plan accordingly. And a big piece considering how they play - Lewis - never saw the field until this year.

The offenses we faced last year weren't very good, and losing Pitts hurt.

Who'd have ever thought that would be the case? Maybe he was a little better than we thought? I was pretty surprised during preseason seeing his name getting mentioned for good with the Dolphins. And he made their practice squad.

He played more cover-2 last week... and guess what? Burned by the run. The boy needs to recruit LB's and DB's w/ urgency, i.e. JUCO.

No question about that. They need as many as they can get and with speed. Particularly LB IMO. They did get some supposedly talented dbacks last year but I'll still take more.

There were some good things said about Hamlin last week but doesn't seem likely we'll see him until next year.

Pitt will be favored by nowhere near 10 at Virginia.

How good would Pitt be if Narduzzi would have been the hire after DW was fired? 3 years of scrub recruiting by Graham and Chryst set this program back 5 years. I expect big things from this staff and I feel they are on the right track. Keep it up boys!
