You are still not getting it are you genius? Yes recruiting is not finished yet but have you seen the 2017 class thus far? Ford and everyone else is 3 star or below. Horrible and 53rd by Rivals so far. You need a different flavor of kool-aid because sure, we get much better players we'll be a better team. Unfortunately Narduzzi is not showing that ability right now. but nice spin pal, nice spin.

The spin is that we are still several months away from LOI day, why get so bothered at this point? Last year at this same time, PITT's class looked pretty weak, but finished strong.
Poker (and SSP and a few others), you guys are still negative and cynical even after a big win. Do you watch college football? Do you see the amount of upsets and close games each week? With your attitude, you would not enjoy being a fan of anyone, except the elite teams such as Bama, Ohio St, and the like. I am glad I can sit back and enjoy Pitt football without having to find negatives in their performances, staff, recruiting or program, and make myself miserable. My expectations are high, but Pitt is what it is, and is trying to get to the next level. Accept it, hope for the best, or find another team to root for (if you indeed root for Pitt in the first place). Sorry for the rant, but Pitt is 4-2, the staff recruits hard against the blue bloods, and the young guys provide a bright future, IMO.
No, just no. In case some of you haven't noticed, most of the kids on our defense are so incredibly slow it's a miracle they play big time college football. Yet because of Pat Narduzzi, we're a very competitive team right now. Once Narduzzi gets a roster full of kids he recruits, this board might shut down.... there will be nothing to complain about.
This program is on the serious up, and we aren't even at the point yet where we have talent close to most somewhat successful programs. Great days are ahead. Wanny did some great things here, but he was basically the poster child for the all too familiar heartbreaking Pitt loss. If Narduzzi coached that '09 team, no doubt in my mind we're 12-0.
Narduzzi is the real deal. Chryst set a solid foundation, and he's winning at Wisconsin. But that's Wisconsin. They've always gotten kids to go there and Alvarez is still lingering around. Anyone who thinks Pitt would have 2 wins right now with Chryst is off their rocker... and that's not a knock on PC at all, just the hard truth about who this team is.

Sorry GT but after 3+ decades of not even once winning 10 games(astonishing if you ask me), my tolerance has lessened considerably. I'm just not impressed with the coaching on this team and if they win 7 games I'll be shocked. Regardless it'll be once again another garbage bowl. Sorry if I'm not jumping up and down.
I like your posts Pittx9 but I just don't understand this comment. We're not on the serious up, recruiting THUS FAR for 2017 is awful and the pass defense is amongst the worst in the country. I'm just not feeling your optimism and am a little surprised by it. You are usually more of a realist like me lol.
Because we're 4-2 and honestly there is no excuse for not being 6-0. And this is with talent that is not that good. We are seriously competitive without even having that good of players. The coaching staff is seriously just that good.
Maybe the recruiting will get better soon, maybe it will take a while. I'm just saying if we're already competitive now, it's gonna get much better in the future. And the reason I use the term that we're on the up.... From the decline in the 80's until now, there have been maybe... maybe 3 or 4 Pitt teams better than last year's or this year's. After Wanny left, this program was teetering on the line of dumpster fire. Day one and Narduzzi already improved the attitude significantly.
I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong. In fact, if we keep recruiting at a mediocre level like you've mentioned it will be years of 7-5 and 8-4 teams. I just really think the talent on this team overall is pretty poor, yet this is a damn good team (outside of the unacceptably horrible pass defense and to a degree the linebackers). I'm just saying if this is what Narduzzi can do with this team, if he brings in talent we could be a power again.
Ok, but again refer back to my post. You can be miserable, or enjoy the football season as it is. Time flies, and when you get older, every season is precious and needs to be enjoyed. If that is not with Pitt, then become neutral or root for a blue blood that will give you less things to be miserable about. It have endured the last 30 yrs also, but the past means little to me. I enjoy the present and look forward to and have hope for the future.
For those saying "same old Pitt", or Narduzzi is Wanny, you have to see a difference and give this time. NOTHING good will come of being negative and changing coaches. You have to have stability and you can't have that changing coaches ever other year.

A realist would know we had the talent of about a 6 win team the last 2 years. We won 8 games last year and stand at 4-2 this year. You are the opposite of a realist. You are a negative poster that likes to take shots at the Pitt program. That is being real.
Instead of getting all worked up about THUS FAR how about relax until LOI day is over. I'm not going to sit here and tell you he's gonna close strong like last year but they're still very much in in some good players and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a surprise or 2. And he might fail big. I don't know - and you don't either. Nor does anymore else on this board.
I hope you don't have this same mentality while you're playing poker. If you're anywhere near as successful as you claim to be there's no way you can. Whether it's cash and you have to rebuy or tournament and you have a chip and a chair there's no way you can operate on the felt with the same way you look at an INCOMPLETE recruiting class.

HTP! This team needs help at the corners, no doubt. Amazing how just two years ago we were all talking about the rebuild needed on the D line. Doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Oh woe-is-me Tyler Boyd went pro. Pitt will never be able to throw the ball ever again. Right? HTP!
And by the way....after said 3+ decades you just expect 9-10 wins in year 2 and that quick of a turnaround? I realize if the stars align (Like maybe in Houston) it's possible but it's just not gonna work like that for most teams. Chryst may have prevented a complete disaster but Narduzzi didn't exactly inherit a juggernaut.
