With all players being offered a do over in terms of eligibility how does a team know how many can be signed before everyone has made their decision?
They recruit as if the extra year eligibility didn’t happen. The NCAA has already stated they will allow teams to exceed the 85 limit for 2021. The unknown is whether it immediately goes back to 85 in 2022 or if it will phase back to 85 over multiple years. You just have to take a full class now and adjust the 2022 strategy depending on the rules at that time.Great question.
I wonder how they will manage grad transfers. In a normal year the team needs to fit them into the 85 limit. So could a team go get 20 grad transfers this year as with an extra year there could be heaps of them available. They recruit as if the extra year eligibility didn’t happen.
