It was partly/ mainly his fault that the talent level has fallen this far.
BC beat Duke. Duke is also missing 2 guys in their rotation. This is an absolute joke.
Its like we dont even have a team anymore.

Pitt has had more embarrassing losses under Stallings in a season and a half than under Dixon in his entire career. This is Stallings second year, give it up with the blaming Dixon. There is no one anywhere that knows anything about basketball that thinks the team would be this bad had they not forced out Dixon.
Why Lyke has not yet fired Stallings is reflecting very badly on her. Many thought she was unqualified coming in, this is just adding to that stigma. I wonder if she’s ever fired anyone?
Do you really think that she can make that decision, given the millions that it would cost to buy him out?
Pitt has the worst fans in the world. We deserve everything we get. Besides the students and me, every other pitt fan is sitting on their hands, at home dreaming of 2009 complaining on here.
Not appreciating and supporting them more during Dixon’s tenure is on the fans. It is tough to get fired up if you are down 20+ for almost the entire game.
See I believe the people defending Stallings are not the real Pitt fans. The are the ones that like seeing Pitt get destroyed and embarrassed regularly.
You know why she hasn't fired Stallings, it's because of MONEY. Buyout is affordable after year 3. I used to think if we maybe lost every game in the ACC or almost every game Stallings might be canned after this season. However I'm starting to believe that Stallings gets a 3rd year no matter what. But unless there is a drastic turnaround next season with some quality ACC players recruited here, I think he's gone after next season.

I still don't think the hire was awful, nobody was interested. That contract though, I fully agree, one of the worst contracts a school has ever gotten locked into.
1) Don’t lower the buyout on Dixon or at least get a big chunk of the buyout.
2) There are good coaches at lower level D1 schools making 500k. They would jump at the chance to triple their salary.
3) There are good assistant coaches would run through a brick wall to get a HC job at an ACC school.
Yeah that whole Dixon buyout thing was an absolute travesty. Literally the one good thing about him leaving and Pitt politely declines. Just embrasssing.
I don’t understand why so many people are upset. This is exactly what we predicted was gonna happen. The time to be upset was months ago, not now.

I live in North Carolina and on my way to work this morning, these 2 radio guys were talking about Duke's loss the other night. The the one guy stated, "well at least they will win tonight, Pitt is terrible. They are the worse team in the ACC" the other guy didn't argue that and sounded in agreement. Kind of sad to see how far our basketball program has fallen in just under 8 years that we are a national laughing stock.
Even if they dont win an ACC game (which could very well happen), I just cant see them firing Stallings after this season unfortunately.

So you don't like Stallings and don't like Lyke because she is female, that is pretty obvious. Don't forget all those NCAA losses by Dixon, guess they weren't embarrassing especially the way we lost. He was outcoached every time.
I am of the belief this isnt a Lyke decision, it would have to come from someone much higher up (president of the school) since there is so much $$$ involved in just firing him. Also, I cant see a Pitt booster stepping up and donating 6-8M to "buy him out". We are not Kentucky or an SEC football school.
I think Stallings is a mediocre coach that was a terrible hire. I think Lyke is off to a good start. We won’t be making an NCAA tournament for a long time, so cherish all the ones we made under Dixon.
Those decisions are always booster driven.

Find me a loss under Dixon as bad as last years vs Miami, Louisville, Duquesne or today? If boosters are expected to pay severance, they should be appointed to the hiring committee. Holding fans accountable for Barnes horrendous job is not fair, even to our dumbest, most entitled boosters.
Yep, that's the ONE--in 13 years. Stallings can dream of having just 1 in a month.
