DT’s recap was spot on as usual. I will add a few more things.

First of all it’s refreshing to actually enjoy watching college basketball again. The last 2 Dixon years and the Stallings debacle Made Pitt basketball almost unwatchable.

Coaching matters and we have a good one.

I expected Duke’s talent to do what they did last night. I thought that it would be a 20 point loss. I expected our team to continue to fight hard.

I expected that Duke would play zone against us.

I didn’t expect that T. Brown to have some interior success. If he gets a little quicker with his feet and a tad more aggressive next year will be fun.

I didn’t expect to struggle so much against the zone. I know that lessons aren’t learned over night, but we may see zone against every team for the rest of the way. Next point about zone personnel.

I didn’t expect that Malik would be the quasi guy in the middle of the zone. He only played 10 minutes but had 3 turnovers and 2 fouls. I wish he would be better but he just isn’t.

I didn’t expect so many missed open shots. I figured it would be tough getting shots but we had a lot of wide open looks. 3-15 from the 3. We won’t win many when we do that.

When we are shooting so poorly why can’t Kham Davis see more than 1 minute in a game when you are dying for a pure shooter? 1minute for the 6’4” sophomore. He might look nice in the middle of a zone hitting a 16 footer or on the wing for a kick out 3. Maybe he’s a slacker in practice?

I didn’t expect Kene to play as aggressively as he did. I thought he was solid in his 14 minutes. Not much finishing on offense but he held his own.

I didn’t expect 14 turnovers to 6 assists. X-man with 5 himself. Have to clean that up. Soon.

I didn’t expect us to be this much improved this year. It’s been fun again. I’m excited to have some passion again for Pitt basketball. The Zoo was fabulous.

Let’s go get Louisville

We had looks and missed them. They had looks and made them. When Brown went out, they immediately went inside and went on a run. That shows that he has improved. He still needs to go up stronger, as he gets way too many shots blocked for a guy his height and arms as long as his.

He was playing against guys who are just as tall who jump higher and are a lot quicker . He does seem to hesitate he has to get it and go . He’s made great strides this yr , but he’s got a way to go .

X needs to add a pull up jumper to his game. He would be unstoppable if defenders had to worry about the drive and the pull up. He's already hard to stop, but the added dimension would almost put him in Michael Westbrook territory... Yeah. .I said almost…

The pull up would also keep him away from the drive into trouble turnovers a bit more…
