and I'm not referring simply to this game (athough this is clearly true). This program has completely lost it's mojo. We simply can't or don't compete against good teams. Coming to the Pete was always a feared event for visiting teams...no more. We played the upper echelon teams tough...even at their place....now we get blown out and embarrassed.

Not fun.

unfortunately, this team felt like it was getting ready to flame out a couple games ago.

True. What we are seeing though is a combination and I stress combination of a flawed roster AND bad coaching. I stress that the latter is at play here too. There's no excuse for the way Pitt has completely fallen apart in several games this year. Add to that, the team is getting worse in multiple ways: there is no set or understood rotation any more; the defense gives up scores of easy buckets and the O is a disorganized mess which revolves around three guys watching Young and Artis freelance like they're Kobe and Lebron. This team hasn't improved in any aspect of their game, none!

This team is getting worse and worse as the season has gone on. Which is not a good sign. Since we have seen this happen the last 3 years.

I really hope Jamie isn't stubborn like Wanny. When its clear as day its time to get rid of most of his staff. Clearly, they are not getting it done on the coaching front along with recruiting.

Yup... but can you blame Young/Artis going it alone? Would you pass it back to Robinson for a 3pt brick? Seriously.

How many coaches does the basketball team have? To start, that's how many problems this team has
I am counting on Scott Barnes to identify the problems with Pitt basketball and to come up with the solutions to put things to rights.

The sad thing is I don't watch them anymore. I am a 25 year season ticket holder and I won't go to another game. Apathy has set in.

Can't let it totally unravel like last year. Have to at least beat wake,@tech,@tech.

Years ago, I always would tell non basketball people (fans of pitt) that this program was going to rise out of the ashes like the early days of UCONN with Calhoun. UCON was a nothing program, won consistently for about 8 years then finally became a juggernaut. I kept on believing PITT was on that path. Year after year they won and won and won, knocking on the door, a juggernaut about to be born. Dixon and the administration lost that opportunity and we are years away from having that shot again.

We had our chance and we blew it

He has ditched staff before, can't see that as an issue.

Well obviously Dixon hasnt forgot to be a good coach. The difference when we had sustained success to now is the staff. Not the head coach. Hopefully, Jamie can see this before its too late.

Correct - during this downward turn Barton, Knight, and Sandle were on the staff. Sandle is gone, and it is time for more changes.

Said it before........I don't think its a NOT a coincidence that the downward trend in recruiting and record corresponds to JD not having seasoned assistants like Rice, Lombardi, and Slice. Barton is a bum, not sure why they hired the dude from the Michigan area and Brandons, recruiting track record has been mediocre at best.

So you sat through all those horrible Willard teams, but won't watch this one? Interesting.

Times I felt this way and voiced my opinion...

1 not advancing past elite 8 because of bs travel call on Blair
2. Scotty f&cking Reynolds
3 the Butler game meltdown

I felt these 3 we avoided taking a major step that could have influenced recruiting...etc etc....

I was really surprised when half the assistants weren't changed after last season, considering the way things went.

Personally I think Jamie is still haunted by the Butler loss. Possibly the biggest coaching mishap in history (which led to the biggest mishap by a player). It's possible he lost some confidence after that one. At that point in time he was in the prime of an outstanding coaching career, and they lost a game due to a coaching blunder that a rookie coach probably would've known not to do.

need some tickets?

Nope, season ticket holder since the Pete opened and am at every game to support my favorite team. Obviously hoping for a win, but will be there regardless. Guess I'm just crazy that way.
