-- Took a while to figure out the zone, but eventually settled in and made it a game. Pitt did a better job of attacking it in the second half for sure. Nice adjustments for Capel, and Johnson played a nice second half. Johnson was the only player that I saw that forced movement and tried to get into the middle of the zone.

-- Syracuse's zone is good, they're long. I know it seems so simple "Throw it to the guy in the high post" but they really did a nice job of taking that away. Pitt countered that by throwing Brown in the high post or just letting Johnson drive there.

-- Brown missed a few rebounds, but you'll take 11 and 7 from him almost every day of the week. Pitt's better when he's on the floor, he brings more to the table than Hamilton from what I'm seeing.

-- Murphy needs to pull the trigger more. I think he gets worried if he misses a few shots, but he's a shooter - just keep shooting.

-- Champagnie was really good again, he helps open up a lot of things on offense. His defense is still questionable, but he rebounds and provides a nice presence. Toney did some nice things today too.

-- Pitt was down 30-10 with 4:51 in the first half and outscored Syracuse 51-39 the rest of the way. Those scoring droughts to start games really kill this team. Happened with Miami too. I don't think it's lack of effort, not being prepared, etc. They're just a bad shooting team, but they had to find a way to work through it by getting to the line or getting transition points.
