first time I really disagreed with a Narduzzi decision

If you didn't disagree with not putting a guy deep on the YSU kickoff with 4-1/2 minutes to go then you need to seriously reassess.

Dominated the 3rd and were driving for the kill shot and he pu$$es out.

wish he would have went for it too. but its not like we ran the ball on iowa effectively all game. I understand his thought process. that punt was bad. very short. tried to pin them deep, get a stop, and kick a fg to win it. u can second guess all day. I love the staff

I absolutely wanted him to go for it. I think going for it and getting it would have been a tremendous confidence builder for this team. But I clearly understand the call. If you don't make it you put Iowa in great field position and a ton of pressure on the defense. Plus if you don't make it many of the same people saying he should have gone for it would be saying he should have punted it and pinned Iowa deep in their own territory. A good punt there probably leads to an overtime situation.

Yeah, in another thread I said in retrospect that it might have been the right call in the end. We weren't running the ball very well, especially between the tackles.

First-year coaches should absolutely be aggressive and go for it more on fourth down. It's not like he's going to get fired if it costs his team the game. Being aggressive is the way to go and it is time to stop relying on Winslow to come through in the field position game. The decision not going for it didn't sap the energy out of the defense, but it sure looked like it didn't help either.

It's called big job disease. Seems to happen to almost all of them. A coach builds his whole reputation prior to getting the "big job" as tough, aggressive, confident, etc. Then after he gets the big job and when he's faced with faced with a situation like 4th and inches at a critical moment, his a$$hole puckers. He can try to rationalize it later any way he wants, we weren't getting a good push off the ball, blah blah blah, but no matter what they tell themselves, they choked and got way too conservative.

Note to Duzzi-we've been losing for 30 years with coaches who don't take risks when the game is on the line. This is Pitt. Roll the F'in bones. If it doesn't work, shake to off and do it again the next time. We'll forgive you if it doesn't work out.

The indecisivenss that the jerk around play made it look worse than it was.

What back did they have to MAKE that yard, cause Iowa was stoning the run all game and was going to really amp that up.

NONE.

Peterman can run a bit with some space, but he isnt a good enough athlete or big enough to count on him picking it up.

Lets put it this way, if they had Conner, think they go for it then?

I do, and I think they get it cause HE makes that yard.

Only play I would trust there was a short pass to Boyd.
