From somewhat random blogging site.
Has Pitt in as an 11 vs. 6 WVU.

Also, whereas the, but PITT started strong last year too and then went off the deep end concerns are valid until proven otherwise, the team could not beat zone last year. After early success man-to man last year in conference, teams went zone and proved PITT could not beat them. They have already swept cuse and beat an athletic Duke zone.

Here's a great site that averages all of the various Bracketology sites. Across the board, on average, Pitt is currently the first team out of the tourney.

So out of 60 brackets, under 30 put us in the tourney. But of those that put us in, our average position is as an 11-12 seed.

I was just told in another thread that I was an idiot for saying there's any chance we don't make the tournament. We have dumb fans.

If they picked the tournament today, I dont see any way we arent in.

I cant get a grasp on what ACC record we need to get in. I'd say 11-7 gives us a good shot (assuming 18 games)

Some of that’s a timing issue — some of those brackets aren’t updated since the Duke game and some not with Cuse or Duke game factored .

I think a road win at UL with Toney and Champ would go a long way. So that is 1. We cannot afford any bad losses. That means win this weekend at Wake, home against Wake and ND, and whenever the BC game is re-scheduled. That is up to 5. Earn at least a split with Clemson and NC State to get to 7. Take 1/3 of UNC, VT, and UVA, to get to 8. So that would be 12-6. If FSU or GT is rescheduled, I think they would need to take 2/4 from UNC, VT, UVA, and FSU/GT. They will head to the ACC tourney with at least bye and possibly double bye likely in the field.

maybe flip those seeds.us 6 ,them 11.what have they done this year to warrant a 6? have they beat anybody of note? if so,I don’t recall it.

WVU is 9-0 against teams outside of my top 35 and 0-4 against teams inside of my top 35. If they continue to play that way they'll end up 13-12 (5-11).

Obviously they will probably do better than that but it's a good barometer of why bracket talk in January is just plain stupid most years but completely idiotic this year.

You‘re not an idiot at all. Pitt is probably on the right side of the bubble right now, but a bid is by no means secure or even close to that at this point. One bad loss could have them on the wrong side looking in, lot of games left to be played.

Rutgers was listed as a #9 seed, but they are in a free fall. There is no way they’d be in the tournament as of today. A lot of basketball still left to play.

There should be no way Rutgers is a tournament team at this point. They’ve lost 5 in a row in a short season, and other than the first loss in the streak the others have been somewhat ugly.

I mean - we are 5 games into the conference schedule

Not sure why people don’t realize that. Teams go up and down during the course of the season, way too early to make any sort of definite statement on these fair to middling teams yet.

That's what I thought, the disparity was pretty big. Ib think we're likely in as of today but obviously a lot of work to do.

That's why tomorrow's game is important. It's a game we should win, and a road game, and stacking wins....it would get us to 5-1 in conference, 9-2 overall. And....we would have five P5 road wins. That's a pretty strong resume. One WTF game (St Francis) that should really be discarded. Our other loss came without our 2 best players (L'ville).

Being first game with no exhibition is relevant
Of course once you sweep cuse , beat duke , and win a road game against a b10 team-
Those matter far more
