This move was the perfect soft landing for both sides. Dixon gets a fresh start and low expectations. Pitt gets out from under a long and expensive contract. There was a lot of negotiating with the buyout figure. My guess is that it was somewhere in the middle, but we will probably never know.

Barnes must have someone in mind. There was very little effort on Pitt's side to do anything. This was their out before things got too bad.

Without Pederson in the mix, this job is much more attractive. I know several coaches that wouldn't consider it with Pederson in charge. Not to mention, Barnes seems pretty savvy and ready to go.

I am not saying Sean Miller is coming here, but I know for a fact that he will listen. I don't care what anyone else tries to say, he will listen and consider it. This is from a source as good as family. Now, the timing has to be right. His wife wants to get back to the east coach, and they are starting to hear a lot of the same criticism. I have been told that Barnes is good friends with Miller and loves him. We shall see. Sean is going to be the first call and main target.
