Franklin wants to "QUIET THE PITT/PENN STATE RIVALRY TALK"

PSU was also the second youngest team in FBS last year with 19 less scholarships than Pitt.

There's no bigger fan of Narduzzi than me, I loved him at MSU and I thought he was the home run hire at Pitt but he's not getting the players he really wants (the coach that gets high praise for spotting and evaluating talent).

17 out of the 20 PSU commits, Narduzzi offered (he wanted them to play for Pitt)

0 out of the 11 Pitt commits, Franklin offered.

I know Narduzzi came in late last year, the ratio was for '15 was even worse for Pitt.

0 out of 11 that Franklin offered? Well, Givens flipped the night before NLI day and Whitehead had to tell Franklin to quit bugging him.

PSU was second youngest to Pitt.

PSU did have more scholarships to offer but I don't know how that matters. You should save that excuse for next fall.

Anything else?

Then they wouldn't beat Clarion either, they are atop the PSAC standings.

I would have to rank IUP ahead of ups, making them 4th in the state.

Bookser and Whitehead are the only players from the '14, '15 and '16 class to have an offer from PSU.

On the other side, Pitt offered 44 players that either signed or verablly committed to PSU in '14, '15, '16 classes!

Maybe that'll be 43 once Miles Sanders flips to Pitt!

Judging by how things are going, maybe they should be offering more Pitt guys.

Let's re-visit those numbers a few years down the line now that Narduzzi has had a chance to get settled in. The 2016 class will actually be his first.

And yet - here is Pitt, playing better than everyone's expectations. PSU - not so much. I'm not sure where you're going with this because given the facts you've presented, it would appear PSU is seriously underperforming. As a fan that would give me pause.

So when is ups going to beat a good team with all this talent?

The players who are to have the most impact a college field right now (whether depth or starter) come from the '11, '12 and '13 classes. PSU finished # 35, 51, 43, respectively.

The margin for error there is slim for a program with who finished with those rankings. They're not a good team, they don't have enough good players offensively. Most fans expected 8-4, 9-3 but they're probably more like an 7-5, 8-4 team which is almost indicative of what type of players they brought in 3-5 years ago. Am I wrong here?

Franklin deserves at least next season, if not '17 to evaluate the job he's done./ Pitt's in the same boat with all the coaching changes throughout the last several years! Narduzzi is a stud though, he'll be successful wherever he goes.

Breeze:

What year are you referencing?

Last year Franklin flipped Bowers, so he definitely offered at least one Pitt offerree.

Pitt recruiting will be just fine. Then when they get to Pitt they'll be coached up and surpass whatever the hot air Twitter clowns from State College put on the field. Coaching counts.

Here's the thing, Breeze, Pitt's not in the same boat. Pitt's ahead of your team's boat which is captained by a bald wind bag cheerleader who likes to paint his face to look like a lion and points the "we're #1 finger" like he's stuck in 1992. Every time you hear Narduzzi he's talking X's and O's and strategy in rapid fire fashion. James from State College just spouts slogans.

Love td using the nitters own arguments

I think so. They're still bitter over him going on all of the national shows and telling the truth.

The days of State College being the US equivalent of Pyongyang are long gone. The internet and smart phones have changed everything. The nits can't lie and hide things anymore. Notice how once the censorship and secrecy ended the lid blew off that hell hole? Everything was cool from 1966 until Joe wasn't any longer able to control every piece of information that came out of there. When that happened - and the truth about what had really been going on up there for 4 decades came out - he was finished. So was the nits phony reputation.

This asshat sat in his initial press conference and talked about how he was going to dominate the state and how all the kids were going to go to PSU. Unfortunately, for him Pitt decided to get serious about football after 3+ decades. This is the kind of thing that happens when you run your mouth at the wrong time. His competition is in a position to call him on it and now he looks like a fool.

His recruiting class is currently ranked #6 in the nation. He may not get every kid he wants, but he isn't doing too shabby either.

Remember the fat guy from South Bend who also didn't do too shabby in terms of recruiting? How about the less noisy big boy in Ann Arbor? How'd his recruits do for him?

Conversely, Narduzzi has consistently taken less coveted guys and turned them into world burners. Good on Franklin for his recruiting. It is impressive but he's yet to prove he can coach a lick.

Of course, you're also the guy who though Wanny could walk on water so you may just like being a contrarian.
