From a UCF friend…

We already have two regular opponents in Florida.

This is a no win situation for Pitt, Our local fanbase will expect Pitt to win because it doesn't respect directional schools, so it will get no juice for winning. It's not going to sell tickets at Acrisure. The Cincy series wasn't smart either. Home and homes against perceived lesser name but extremely tough opponents is not smart scheduling. Pitt needs to stack wins against body bags out of conference. Should schedule Temple.

Then again, we may not have conference games against Florida schools by then.
There's no indication either Cincy or UCF will be "extremely tough" going forward. We need to step up and beat lesser teams, which they are.

No indication they won't be either. You can't predict. Their recent history suggests they won't be the easiest outs.

IMO, we need to stack wins. Strength of schedule has less meaning in college football than any other sport.

Buffalo nearly beat us. Ohio has. We frequently sucked and lost to Temple in our past. Then there have been YSU, Akron, WMU, others. Some of you forget: at Pitt coaches and players come and go, but the playing down to rinky-dinks is an infamous Pitt tradition. There are no easy, guaranteed wins for this team.

We are not likely to lose to Waffles (or whatever the name is) in game 1 … but there’s a very solid chance we’ll struggle and underwhelm in the game. Something in the air or water or CBD or whatever that our team consumes before a game against a poop opponent; we tend to stink.
Gtfo we will win by 40 easy

With Pitt “stacking wins” is easier said than done. See:
GT
WMU
Ohio U
Bowling Green
Toledo
Etc
Etc
Etc
Etc

Now it looks better as a possible replacement for Florida State, as far as maintaining presence in Flordia.
