Pittsburgh: The Panthers are one of the most unpredictable teams in the country, year in and year out. They’re capable of playing top-10 teams down to the wire, as Penn State learned, but they also nearly lost this fall to FCS opponent Delaware. A 7-5 record considering what Pitt lost to graduation and the NFL is still rather impressive, especially in Mark Whipple’s first season as offensive coordinator. Pitt will need more of that type of offensive creativity and passing game success moving forward, as well as continuing improvements on the defensive side of the ball, where it ranked second in the ACC in yards per play allowed. Pitt could win any game on its schedule and also lose any game on its schedule. The ultimate TBD team.
