Seems like we are just short of where we need to be, especially on the defensive side.

We were as close to the tourney as that Jamel three was that rattled out.

Last shot is the tourney.

I believe in this team stringing together 4 straight wins in the tourney.

I like your dry wit/sarcasm or if your are serious-masochism

I am heartbroken and yet still optimistic that this team can surprise. No pleasure from there losses but unlike some on this board I saw SIGNIFICANT progress and see a very bright future.

Well at least things are clear now - Win ACC tourney or NIT. Reminds me a little of 2001. That team getting to the BET finals was a springboard to 3 straight sweet 16s. I wouldn't bet against making the sweet 16 next spring for first time since 2009.

On a side note, it's hard to fathom the days when making the sweet 16 was considered a failure. Man were we spoiled.

It has been a fun year, I agree.

Several players improved as the year went on, while one (Newkirk) regressed badly.

I'm optimistic about next season.

Trying to calm down a bit after this one.

I don't want to give up on this team. I really like the team. They are not a great set of individual players, but when they play together and are confident, they can be a force (e.g., NC and ND games). Of course, we can go the other way as well. I do like that this team seems to give effort almost 100% of the time. But as we know, effort is not always enough.

I would love to see them make a run and at least get to the ACC finals. Can they do it, sure, but it won't be easy.

So I will say it --

I will follow Pitt, root for them, be at games when I can, and enjoy and get angry as a fan is wont to do.
At this time, I am one who believes that Jamie can stay at Pitt as long as he wants. And I hope that we win a championship for him. He has done a lot for this university as noted by experts who follow this game across the country.

So time to sit back, catch our breath, and pull for this team in the ACC Tourney, and then the NCAA (hopefully) or NIT (more likely). I did see today that they announced that the First Four Out will be given the #1 seeds in the NIT. We still have that opportunity, and can then have some games at home and maybe in our second home -- MSG.

Chen eng you summed up my thoughts and presented them in a much better way then I ever could.

I've been bringing this up for a few weeks now. I recall how much I was dreading the upcoming ACC schedule back in December. I wasn't the only one thinking they might not win 3 ACC games.

This team competed and gave a respectable account for themselves the past couple of months. They just don't have enough. I see the NIT as an opportunity to stack some wins and get success at a tournament setting. Could serve as a springboard for next year as the feeling is that Pitt should be a more well rounded team.
