the fact that Pitt only has six home games. Power five teams pretty much have seven games at hoe and a select few have eight. Eight would virtually be impossible since we have four guaranteed conference road tilts so we would have to schedule all four ooc games at home. And this years six home games is not on Heather or her staff since they inherited three of the four and ND was the ACC date. Next year we will have seven with three ooc games scheduled. But after that and for the rest of the decade who knows since Pitt has not announced much for the next six years beyond 2024. in fact if my calculations are right we may half up to 12 openings for the remaining years in the decade.

We should have 3 probable wins and a game against a quality opponent or Wvu in the non conference schedule every year.
Well there aren’t any so far in the next 10 years so I’m guessing Pitt agrees with you. It could get messier if the ACC goes to 9 games (+ND) which Phillips didn’t rule out someday especially if SEC does.
We shouldn’t play WVU in the years ND is on the schedule, or at least structure it to play WVU at home when ND is on the road.
