Game 2 thoughts....

Offense....

1. If the offensive line can play like they are suppose to on paper (Bookser will bring a nasty streak that is needed)then I believe we will be able to move the ball with the help of some play action passing completions (key word completion). which brings me to point #2.

2. We need to put pressure on teams (some teams have talented midgets who no matter how talented can't out play a 6'4 WR for a jump ball) with our own huge WR's....Weah...Mathews....etc....need attempts and have to win 1 on 1 battles....our running back group is very over rated (maybe davis changes that not sure yet).

3. Max Browne will play better the more aggressive we are offensively....period...

Defense....

1.We need pressure on top of pressure on top of pressure......Turnovers kill crowds....sacks kill crowds...we need to be make splash plays in the backfield to that keep our D engaged and excited as well as stop PSU before they get started. We can not play base defense this game and expect to win.

2. Maddox needs to have the game of his life.... 1 on 1 battle for a pick and 3 sacks off the edge...no other player will have the opportunities that he will to make splash plays...

3. Make McSorley prove it with his arm and decision making.... make him qb this thing not run and manage...

I look for Pitt to throw deep early.
Max can't turn the ball over so those deep routes will be sideline variety.
Barkley is good. But he is great in space. He must be contained so tackling is critical.
McSorley has to be kept in the pocket.
No one has mentioned punting, but we have an edge here. Field Po could be critical.
PSU lost last year because we jumped on them early. We lose for sure if PSU jumps on us early.

We have a punchers chance as they say. PSU is better at about 17 of the 24 positions , counting kicker and punter.

I hope Duzz hide out works this week. I hate the media but Pitt needs all it can get, especially in the recruiting game.

I still feel Pitt can win , but it's the fan in me only, it's really what I want very badly
