GAME THREAD - Pitt vs Louisville .......

Young goes out... Pitt goes on a 4-0 run. Coincidence?

Then Artis takes over for Young in creating a stupid turnover.

Sheesh, Artis has to know better than try a spin move like that on the break.

To Souf: If your gameplan is to attack the rim, you bail out the other team if you miss the resulting FTs. It's the same as them getting a stop. The only good thing is someone might get into foul trouble. Also.... if team A goes 10-for-20 at the line and team B goes 8-for-8.... Team B likely won the game, unless team A made up for the equivalent of five empty possessions in some other way.

Artis HAS to make that uncontested three. Just HAS to.

unbelievable.

That Artis 3 would have been huge. That's why it's such a bummer Smith hasn't worked out. We could so use a 3 point specialist.

Because too many people minimize its importance.

And it is killing us today. If you're gameplan is to attack the rim, you HAVE to make the FTs... or it is no better than a turnover.
1 is more than 0.
Accruing fouls against your opponents key players already a net positive.

I'd prefer to miss 6 free throws and make 4 more fgs.

They aren't mutually exclusive. You can make the FGs *AND* make the FTs.

Also... if you are being fouled and at the line, you have less opportunities for FGs.

Another smart play by Luther. Maybe he can donate some brain cells to Harry and Lloyd.

Every time we get a chance to blow the game open and bring the house down, we have a stupid turnover.
