Can we cut the kid any slack? Would we really do better than him in the portal? We landed a Top 3 transfer in Slovis and he was Tino. Jurkovec was widely thought to be a Top 5 QB/1st/2nd Round draft choice this April. We saw him torch us 2 years ago. He was playing behind an OL that were down like all 5 starters. Pickett wasnt above average until Year 4 and it wasn't until Year 5 he was elite. Jurkovec has potential and simply put, we wouldn't do any better. I'm excited.

Pitt just has a lot cheap, self-loathing, miserable fans. I think it’s a good move for everyone involved.
If he is not the starter than Pitt will have done better. He knows the system so to be beat out will mean good things. Experience and confidence are both important things. Maybe Slovis was caught off guard by system, which in turn also affected his confidence. Coming into the system knowing it is run heavy is different than committing to Duzz based off Pickett and having Addison still on roster. They don’t need a slinger per say. A mobile qb who can read options isn’t that much to ask for I would hope.
