Regardless, I said the big 10 is almost monumentally bad this year. Can you remember a season when a conference performed worse in a bowl season? I remember the big 10 going 2-5 a few years back as well.

It lowers the perception of how "great" the b10 is. They were the media darling this year taking the place of the SEC in 2016. When forced to match up against their peers, they took quite a few beatings. Since schools are not forced to schedule teams that are on their "level" in out of conference games, bowl season is all you can go by. Recruits watch bowl games, recruits watch the talking heads. When they change their opinion of how poor the b10 did and how well the ACC did, it changes their opinion of where they want to perform.

I mean I don't deny it goes both ways. Rivalries are like that though. I've spent some time on both the Clemson and South Carolina boards and it's pretty ridiculous how often there are topics about the opponent.

What effect the stomping of the BIGHYPE should (but most probably will not) have is in the preseason rating of teams for the top 25, etc. The automatic rating of BIGHYPE teams in the top 25 is most often done by perception, no reality. Being rated highly preseason is a huge advantage as raters do not like to be proven wrong, so they reluctantly lower teams even after loses. It is far more difficult to climb if you do not start in the top 25. Hopefully the thrashing of O$U, etc.in bowl season by OC opponents serves to bring the perception of the BIGIHYPE closer to reality.

-The enjoyment I got from Clemson humiliating Ohio State and putting a big fat crow in Herbstreits mouth made my bowl season enjoyable. I cant stand that biased prick. The Big Ten has been widely embarrassed this entire bowl season and was completely crushed by the ACC this year. Every Top team from the Big Ten got beat down and lost to the ACC, all of them.

-Hopefully this is the last year we ever have a non conference champion in the playoff. Ohio State shitting the bed on National TV showcasing they were an overrated complete joke was a thing of beauty.

The point is that PSU's 9-game winning streak came against 7 bad teams... and the highly overrated OSU and Wisconsin.

Their 11-2 mark is a mirage. The Big Ten wanted the world to think they deserved 3 teams in the playoffs. When in reality, bowl season is exposing them to the point where maybe they deserved *ZERO* teams in the playoffs.
