I guess we’ll find out whether this investigation is legit or just a big show.
If this was some local yokel or some DA trying to make a name it could be a show. But Feds aren’t in business for performances. You can bet your rear end Miller isn’t sleeping well.
Miller may eventually be fired for his lack of NCAAT success + his failure to monitor Book but there will be no direct evidence against Miller which can be proven so he will not get a show-cause. He's probably our next coach.

There is already talk in Arizona that embattled Lakers' Head Coach Luke Walton, who played at the University of Arizona, will replace Sean Miller. The feeling is that if Sean receives a subpeona to testify under oath, there is no way that his testimony could be consistent with public statements that he has previously made about his lack of involvement in paying recruits.
Sean is boxed in because of wiretapped conversations of him that were recorded. Once those conversations are played in court for all to hear, U of A will move quickly to minimize the damage in order to try to hold on to the current recruiting class, which is ranked #1 in the nation.

Do you think Miller is that dumb to be talking about paying players over the phone? That whole wiretap story was obviously wrong. Sure, Miller probably knew what was going on but they'll never prove it.
You have a much higher expectation of a basketball coaches smarts than I do. I definitely would not be surprised for him to be caught in a taped conversation or some other kind of evidence indicating his involvement.
But more specifically my comments were in regards to you thinking he is our next coach. That is pure insanity.
OK. Lets see. His assistant coach cheated and he knew nothing about it (that can be proven). Sounds a bit like our current coach, huh? The fact is that Pitt came very close to hiring Sean Miller before Capel. Some very reliable premium sources had the info. He wanted the job and there were a few days when it looked like it would happen. In the end, Pitt's general counsel wouldnt allow it.
So lets fast forward a few years and Miller is fired from AZ for lack of NCAAT success + Book. Lets say there's no show-cause and he is essentially cleared. Its like "yea he knew but we cant prove it." After doing TV a couple years, Capel moves on. You mean to tell me that Pitt wouldnt be interested in Miller then? In this scenario, he would be hired 30 minutes after Capel left.
There's a higher probably that he will be next coaching Rthymno Cretan Kings B.C. than Pitt.

Unless someone was wearing a wire I find it almost impossible to believe that a veteran HC would be dumb enough to incriminate himself over the phone . Saying we really need this kid and do whatever it takes to an assistant doesn’t mean anyone can prove that the HC meant give the kid a bag full of cash .
