There are women who entered that program one way, and exited the other. There was a culture there that was crafted by the strongest personality in the room.

My understanding from those who might know is that Rapinoe is actually very well liked and a good teammate. Now, could she have influenced teammates to take certain stances on social issues? Yes, I’m sure that is possible, but she is apparently very liked by players, coaches and US Soccer staff.

That said, I am personally not a fan and look forward to the next generation of talent (Soph Smith, Lavelle, Rodman, Ashley Sanchez, Cat Macario, etc) taking the reins and getting back to being a soccer team instead of a social issue measuring stick.

That's exactly why I am so anti-woke. It's not so much that I oppose everything they believe, it's that on the things I don't agree with them on, they can't agree to disagree, they need to erase me or anyone that disagrees with even 1% of their "religion".

Yeah I’m just a jabroni on a message board so I get it. But one day the story will be told. People involved are mature enough and smart enough to not go on record and who can blame them. We’ve seen Carli Lloyd bite her tongue and we’ve seen parents of players come out and allude to certain things that my people have told me. I don’t have first hand knowledge, but I have rubbed elbows with people inside US Soccer. I personally know a former National Team head coach who has openly discussed it with me. And A few years ago I was at the national coaches convention in St Louis and the subject was widely discussed everywhere you went. I’m pretty confident that my opinion is formed based on actual events.

If you are a female athlete participating in sports with a very high rate of homosexuals, you better at least support your teammates by wearing a rainbow flag or whatever they want to do. Nobody is saying you have to be gay or believe in gay marriage, but you've chosen a sport with many gay players. You should at least support them. If you cant do that, you should be done.

I am a Christian, go to Church most Sundays, and would have no problems wearing a rainbow flag on my uniform. For females playing with a high percentage of gay teammates, its extremely disrespectful to not support them by wearing a flag on your jersey or whatever. I get it. The player was anti-gay marriage. OK, but you chose to play with many gay players. If you cant respect them enough to make a very simple gesture, I'm not sure you are teammate material.

A team standing up and representing that community and wearing their flag is actually meaningful and important. You can't compare this to someone not wanting to wear a PETA flag or Whole Foods sticker. The closest comparison would be some NBA team or perhaps the US Men's National Basketball team wearing Black Lives Matter patches but some white player said he couldn't wear it. Why should that player be asked back? Its an important cause that represents a minority community and a majority of the team. You don't have to agree with it but you wear it or you dont play.
