I think you are right about the way this team is constructed.

You can play the best defense and be the most hardened team in the NCAA but eventually you have to put the ball through the hoop (2’s, 3’s, FT’s, whatever it takes to get it done).

Most of JD’s teams just didn’t have that consistent scoring and the one that did ran into FT shooting buzz saw in Villanova.

The Bottom line is that you need to be able to have some kind of offensive potential so even on an off night you can still get points in some way. Being more guard centric is one of the ways to do that. Let’s hope it keeps going.

We played two really good defensive teams. They made the shots when they needed them
